Ideas for a School Disney Club

I teach middle school reading. Recently, our school decided to have club days where students get to attend a club/activity of their choice. Teachers could pick any clubs/activities they wanted to sponsor, so of course, I picked a Disney Club. My idea is to focus on one ride or attraction each meeting, but I wanted to pick rides/attractions that had movies that went along with them. Some ideas are Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Star Wars, just to name a few. I plan on showing the students a park map to locate the ride/attraction, giving background information of the ride (i.e.--stories behind it), showing youtube videos of the ride/attraction, and showing clips of the movies to find commonalities. My question is are there any good websites or articles that will give me accurate information to present? I want to make sure I present truthful information, as it seems there's a lot of iffy information out there.

Disney's official website would be a great tool, this website, AllEars. Some YouTube videos are good, some good accounts are PopSong or Attractions Magazine

As a former teacher myself, I LOVE this idea!! You could even plan a trip to the Disney ice shows when they are in your area. This club will attract kids like we all were. I would have definitely joined a Disney club.

In another direction, how about looking over the topics on the Disney YES Education series website? They link science, technology, careers to different Disney rides. Certainly history and social studies links to World Showcase, but there's some cool things like how physics relates to the roller coasters.

Good luck! Clubs at our school are academically oriented. I don't know if we would be permitted to have a club where they kids watch movies and talk about Disney World, although I'm sure there would be a line out the door to join LOL.

I know I'm very lucky! We are meeting only about 6 times this year for about 45 minutes each time, so it's not taking away too much instructional time. Teachers were allowed to choose anything they were interested in, so there was no question for me; it had to be Disney!!!

Thanks to all of you who have replied. I've been looking at some information on Haunted Mansion. Does anyone know if doombuggies.com has accurate info?
