Help! I need to decorate a baby's onesie using markers and paint (to take to a baby shower). Can anyone help me with a creative idea for this project? I'd really like it to be cute but can't seem to come up with anything. I know there are so many creative and talented people on here, so of course I turned to the DIS. TIA. Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated!!

Old Navy has some really cute ones right now - I got a "Future Valedictorian" for a friend's baby, and they had "Future Class President" and things like that. Cute!

Wow! Some great ideas in your responses. Thank you to everyone for your help. The shower is next weekend. I will take pics of the onesies that everyone brings and try to post some when I get back from the weekend. Thanks again!:disrocks:

Did you throw the shower? I'm throwing a baby shower soon and I think this is a neat idea, does the host supply the onesies? (send in invite?) Hmm I wonder how one could do this...if anyone has any suggestions? I absolutely love this idea, how cute and my sister-in-law will love them too....

Sorry it took me a little time to get back here. The onsies turned out great! DN really got some cute ones. I ended up doing one that said GOT MILK? and had a cow below it (won a prize for this one). My DD did one that said CHICK MAGNET and had a little chick under it. There were some really nice ones. Somebody did an adorable freehand drawing of a lion. One said IT'S A BOY and had diaper pins drawn around it, one was Handsome Devil done in red, one said MY LITTLE MAN and had sailboats drawn on it. There was quite a variety.
CharityLynn: I did not throw the shower. We actually had to travel out of state to attend. This will be our nephew's first child, our first "great-nephew". Instead of doing the onsies ahead they ended up having everyone "create" at the shower. Each guest (or you could pair up to work on one) was given a onsie. (They had them in a variety of sizes so baby could grow into them over time.) They provided fabric pens, fabric markers, fabric paints, sponges and stencils. We then did whatever we wanted to do to the onsie. They did this activity rather than play any games. After everyone was finished they were all laid out on a table and 5 were chosen and given a prize. Mom-to-be was thrilled to have them. Not only b/c they are practical but also as a memory of that person. It was great and everyone got to chat while "designing".
We took pics so maybe I can get DD over here to figure out how to post them! Thanks again everyone for your help!!

What a great idea!!! I am delighted to throw a party in a few months and just hated the games at my own parties. Guessing the flavor of baby food just doesn't float my boat. :scared:
