Hi Everyone,

I live in Northern NJ and just found out I will probably have off of work during the week between Xmas and New Years !! I want to take my 3 boys (14-11-7) somewhere for 1 or 2 nights to take advantage of this !! Any suggestions??? I am willing to drive about 3 hours in any direction.....I was thinking maybe Hershey (but we have done that in the past).....looking for new ideas.....

Great Wolf Lodge in Poconos wants 615.00 for 1 night in a suite...forget that! Anyone know of any other indoor water parks close to Northern NJ??? Or anything else that is just plain FUN for 3 boys to do ??

I appreciate your help !!!

Coco Key Water Park is in Connecticut. Not sure if there is enough to do for two nights though.

How about Boston? Great city, awesome museums, lot to see and if you book a hotel with pool, kids can swim.

Check out the rates for the Marriott in Cambridge...indoor pool and near the Museum of Science which is wonderful. Rates are usually pretty good at this location.

Most options are going to be expensive and/or crowded. NYC (staying at a hotel - we're 20 minutes away, so that's always a treat), Rocking Horse Ranch (1 1/2 hours away), skiing...

How about going to Washington DC?

There is so much to see and do there.

There is CocoKey in Boston (Danvers) as well, if you want to go that route- day of water park, day in the city?

There's a Coco Key and a Sahara Sam's in south Jersey near Philly--don't remember the exact town but it might be Mount Laurel. Both of them have discount deals/packages with neighboring hotels. We did an overnight in that area, spent 1 1/2 days in Philly (the Mint, Liberty bell, Reading Terminal Market, cheesesteaks) and an afternoon at Sahara Sam's. But the indoor water parks are going to be packed that week because of the school break.

But even better IMO would be Washington DC. We're big DC fans and the drive from NJ shouldn't take you much over 3 hours if you time it right with traffic. My big recommendation for boys your ages would be Ford's Theater where they can see all the Lincoln assassination memorabilia including the actual murder weapon. You could also take in Baltimore Inner Harbor and Aquarium on the way to DC.
