Ideas For $20 Grab Gifts

I have been to few Christmas parties this week, which included a gift swap and bringing food to share. It is always fun to see what foods are gobbled up and what gifts are a hit.

The most popular foods were meatballs (so easy to serve and eat), water chestnuts wrapped in bacon (heaven), and little ham and cheese quiches.

Candle type gifts, Bath and Body Works stuff, and alcohol (margarita, wine) were crowd pleasers for the gift swap.

I still have a few more to go and would love new ideas. What are the greatest hits for food, but especially gifts, in your neighborhood?

Around here for food, tortilla roll ups are a huge hit. Just google tortilla rollups.

I usually do the cream cheese, sour cream, green chilis, shredded cheese, sometimes olives for color, and depending the event depends on how much jalapeno.

For gifts, what about picture frames or dvd and popcorn.

We all love a cream cheese/salsa dip with tortilla chips, very easy and it's delicious. Also sausage balls are a must for our Christmas parties.

Dip- Mix a package of softened cream cheese with a can of salsa of your choice (I use Pace's medium) until it is well blended. Put in baking dish and sprinkle with shredded cheese and diced tomatoes if desired.

As for gifts, I don't think you can go wrong with scented candles.

I know the ones that I have been to in the past, a movie basket ALWAYS gets rave reviews.

Go to blockbuster (or any movie store) get one of those popcorn buckets where you only unwrap it and put in the microwave. But fill it up with a few boxes of candy, couple cans of soda and a gift card for a couple movies rentals.

Lottery tickets always are a big hit too.
