Idealy what time do you try to plan your arrival and depature flights?

Traveling cross country it takes us from around 8 am (5 FL time) to 5 pm with connecting flights. We check in then head to DTD for the Rainforest Cafe then back to the resort so we can get a good start for the next day. We never plan the first day, what ever bus comes first that's where we go. We try to get a late morning flight on the day we return. We know that we won't have to get up so early and we can stay out late the day before we leave. Since we know we won't get back home till around midnight, we come home on Sat with the kids and I crying the whole way and DH singing Hallelujah!
