Hi Gang,

DH and I are going to WDW this January 2006. We can go for either 6 or 7 nites, anytime January 3. If you could pick anytime during that month to go? When would it be? What do you think is best arrival day of week? My goal is to #1 minimize crowds.

I've been many times in past and my usually schedule has been: Depart San Diego on Wed., arrive in late p.m., dinner at O'Hana's. Thurs: MK. Friday: AK (am) MGM (pm). Sat.: No parks. Sun: Epcot. Mon: MK (am) Epcot or MGM (pm). Tuesday: Depart.

Any ideas?

If you are arriving on or after January 3, you have already reached your #1 goal of avoiding crowds!

If you go early in the month, then some of the decorations will still be up as well. We went in the week between the large holiday crowds and the marathon and found the crowds to be low and manageable. We arrived saturday and left the friday that everyone was arriving for the marathon.

just had to pop in 'cause I was clapping so much at Bob P's post, we are arriving January 4th (had to reschedule from a fall arrival), so thanks for feel good read about avoiding the crowds.....:)

I'm making the assumption that you meant you could leave anytime on or AFTER Jan 3rd sooo I would go

Jan 24th to the 31rst

1. would avoid Marathon Weekend (Janu 8 & 9)

2. Would avoid MLK weekend dates and week after in case some are
taking advantage of a four day workweek and taking the rest of the
week off

3. like to travel mid week days to take advantage the lower airfares

4. Use the time in the beginning of Jan to return holiday gifts, eat leftover
holiday food, clean from holiday parties :rolleyes1, and put away holiday
decorations

5. I am now exhausted from all the after holiday chores

6. When I return from the sun and fun, fun , fun there will be that many
less weeks to the end of winter.

and that is why i would go January 24th to January 31, 2006

All your tips are great. Thanks!

I'm getting ready to book. I'll let you know what I decided. :sunny:

We are going Jan 25-31. Arriving on a Wed. and departing on a Tue. I can't wait!
