Idaho driver?

Has anyone from Idaho ever made a road trip out of going to Disneyland?

We just had to cancel our flight/trip this past weekend, and Im just starting to pull my head out of the sand again and think about planning again. I used to live in the Napa Valley, so I know about driving there, but not down to DL. Seems like that would add one more day to the drive. My concern is, is there anything good about making it a drive? Winnemucca isnt exactly my idea of fun... What do you think?

We are driving from MT in June. We have teenagers and a dvd player in the car Here's to hoping all goes well! We usually travel in our RV, so we are used to driving, but not used to hotel hopping
I anticapate an enjoyable trip cuz "We're going to Disneyland"
How ever you get there, I think it's worth the effort
BTW, I grew up in Napa Valley too!! As the saying goes . . .it's a small world after all

So would you be driving 80 to I-5? If you can make it into CA, you can take Hwy 49 south (just before Sacramento) and hit Apple Hill, it's a neat place for families for a couple hours, pick up the best caramel or candy apples you've had in your life (yum....miss those.) Weekends have more activities for kids. Not much else from Sacramento to the L.A. area...lol...little places to stop of course.

I drove to San Diego a few years back. We stopped in Las Vegas to spend the night because we weren't up to driving non-stop. Don't know if Las Vegas is anymore your cup of tea than Winnemucca but we enjoyed a night on the strip.

Took us about a day and a half total with 2 drivers.

We just made the trip and had a blast. Now we went through Oregon. Last time we went through Boise area and down it was boring even for the adults.
But with DVD's and MP3's it is very helpfull

Lol....I remember doing the drive as a kid and how incredibly long it was...with nothing to look at the entire way until you hit Vegas. Lots of great family stuff in Vegas too - if you decide to do that I can give you tons of family ideas there.
