ID/signature needed with park hoppers at gate??

DH and I are leaving shortly for DLR. We bought 5-day hoppers and would like to give the remaining 2 days to a friend of mine in the Long Beach area. Money is tight at her house, so going to the parks isn't normally possible. Recently I read somewhere that they were requiring signatures and ID when you enter the parks??? WDW only requires this for AP holders. Is DLR the same, or do they actually make you sign for a regular hopper, too? I'd feel awful if I gifted my friend with these tickets and then she couldn't use them, but I'd feel just as awful if I have to call and say, "Sorry. This isn't going to work after all." Can anyone help me with the latest info on this? Thanks so much!

I was there last weekend and although we have AP's, I noticed that most people had the park hoppers. I did not see any CM's checking signatures. Now this was just my experience and could change at anytime. I would think however that as long as the names on the park hoppers matched the gender of the people using them and that you weren't trying to have a child pass used for an adult you will be okay. Again, just what I saw last weekend so it's not a policy just an observation! Would hate to tell you something that turned into being a disappointment!

When we bought our hoppers this past August the CM told us to sign them so if they are lost and subsequently found we would be able to claim them at Lost and Found. I asked because my 4-year-old's signature leaves a bit to be desired (as does mine )

The rules specifically state that the hoppers are not transferable but we always leave extra days with friends and then it is their choice whether or not they use them!

We were there last June with the 5 for 3 hoppers. No one at either park, DL or DCA, asked for a signature. It didn't seem that anyone was paying too much attention to the tickets, actually. After the 3rd day, I had problems with one of the hoppers not being accepted in the Fastpass machines (because the parking attendant at the Mickey and Friends parking structure used marker to indicate my parking for the day -- right through the barcode!!). I had to go to Guest Relations and THEN they asked me to sign, although they didn't stand there and make me do it. I never had anyone at WDW mark through or otherwise write on my hopper........at DL, every day was a different method...one day it just got scanned through the machine, another day a CM made a check with a pen, another day it got stamped with a date stamp...not sure what the deal was with that.

In most cases they are not looking at signatures or asking to see ID. You should be okay. However, there is a chance that you will get a CM that is overzellous and make you sign it, but it is not likely.

The most i have gotten in recent years is a friendly reminder to sign the pass, as a "its for your protection" type thing.
