What would choose? We love to rides, so we just want 1 character dinner. We are only 63 days out so the hard to find ones are not an option. And I have 5 boys from 17-8. And a baby. We live quality food and having fun with the characters!!

Best food + classic type characters: Tusker House (in Animal Kingdom)

Good food + fun face characters: 1900 Park Fare (resort)

Good food + classic type characters: Garden Grill (in Epcot)

Note the first two are buffets. GG is family-style, which can be a benefit with multiple children. No schlepping to the buffet.

They would all be in heaven at a buffet!! Me, not so much! Thanks for the advise!

Garden Grill, they bring it to you. Characters are Chip, Dale, farmer Mickey and Pluto. The restaurant rotates above Living With the Land at Epcot and is cool in that way too.

if you want to not have your kids running around the buffet because you want to enjoy the breakfast/lunch/dinner, do Garden Grill. It is all you can eat and they serve you. The characters come around many times and the food is good.

I will add kudos for Garden Grill. The food was good especially for the kids and the character interactions were great. Plus the restaurant rotes over the land ride so it is like a ride.

Yeah. It's really about ratios. If you have more little kids than bigger kids who can do their own buffet, family-style is a sanity saver.

Garden Grill! They have breakfast, lunch, & dinner and your kids can see Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale without standing in line. We love resting at the table and having everything brought to us. (Plus, it just seems cleaner than a buffet.) If you make an ADR, be sure to ride the Living with the Land right before. It makes the experience more fun when you've just viewed all of the scenes.

I love Tusker House, but with a family the size of OP's the idea of Family-Style service would shiver MY timbers. pirate:

The walk to Tusker to the buffet and back can be a bit long, and if you have a bad adult-child ratio, stressful in dealing with character rotation.

If you are up to it, I'd suggest a breakfast vice dinner. First its a lot cheaper, but second breakfast food seems to lend itself better to sitting out on a buffet than dinner foods. With that caveat I'd say Tusker House as it is unquestionably the one character meals we've done that we've returned to, though we've only done breakfast. As others have said thinking of non-buffet options Garden Grill is a good choice but again we've only done breakfast there.

Garden Grill! Great food. Characters are Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. Food is all you can eat. Served family style. The restaurant rotates and provides views into Living With the Land. It's a meal with a ride and character interactions. Can't beat it!

And it looks like GG is the winner! Thank you all for the ideas! Now to go find some reservations!

Luckily my 2 teenagers will pretty much take care of themselves!

We are all about rope drop so breakfast is out. :)
