ID help please

I lost my drivers license sometime after the TSA checkpoint in PHL. I did not discover this until I arrived at the hotel. I have been calling MCO, PHL and TSA for days and no one has turned it in. Does anyone have any experience with this? How do I board without a driver's license? The TSA said they "have no outlined procedure for that situation." I find that hard to believe..well on second thought

I don't know who you spoke with at TSA, but they do have a procedure for dealing with people with no id.

Thanks for the link. She did read me off a list of things that would be acceptable and this looks like that list. But I am not at home and do not have any of these other IDs

One time a person in front of me at LAX did not have ID. They just did a full screening on her - wanding, etc. I saw her later at the gate so she did get through.

It sounded to me that they would just ask you several questions, give you a more thorough security check, and let you through if everything checks out on the computer.

On the off-chance, I just thought I'd mention in - If you have a passport or any of the other IDs on the list, is there anyone at home who can get it for you and overnight it? Even if its in your house or SD box, you could overnight the key, they overnight the ID back to you.

First, don't panic.

Second, do you have any card/ID that has your picture and name? If so, make sure you have this ready and available. Have as much proof as you have to who you are, credit cards with a photo ID on them, student IDs, work IDs, etc.

Third, are you traveling alone or with family, if it's the latter, that will help with the process as they can attest to who you are (not that it's a big help, but it will help).

Fourth, do you have any other ID at home (as others have mentioned) that could be overnighted/delivered to your hotel? If so, have them take a copy of it and then mail you the original (ie. passport).

Don't go to the expense of doing this - TSA does have a procedure for people who have no ID (not that they want people to know about it.). It's very much like the screening given to "selectees" (those who get "SSSS" marked on their boarding pass). Don't forget to get your boarding pass.

Basically, you fill out a form or give TSA your personal information, they check you with several government and commercial databases, they ask you questions based on thes, you answer correctly, you get the full TSA body search, you and your stuff gets swabbed, you pass through and go to your gate.

Allow at least an hour extra time! You may not need it, but be prepared. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if you get diverted around the lines once you get to the document checker and they see you have no ID. That may make up for the extra time to "prove" your identity. Limit the carry-ons you have - if you are travelling with others, have no carry-ons.
