Do I need to carry ID for my kids on a domestic flight these days? Security is so tight for us but how about the kids.

If they're obviously under the age of 18, it's not required. I'm just under 18, and don't look even close to 18, but I still have ID but that's because I have it. When we check in at the ticket counter they always just ask to see ID of those 18 and older, and same with going through security. So no, you don't have to have ID.

The previous poster is correct EXCEPT in situations where the child is travelling on a ticket that has been discounted because of the child's age, or if the child is under 2 and travelling as a lap child. The airline WILL ask for proof of age in such a situation; if this applies to you, bring a birth cert. or passport.
