Hi all!! My DD10 and I are going to WDW the first time and I am wondering what would be a good type of ID for her. I'm not so concerned about her getting lost as I am something happening and her not being able to tell someone her name, etc. She won't be carrying any kind of pack. I'm a "the lighter the better" type of person.

Mind you, she is 10 going on 16 so it would have to be very cool.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

How about getting an ID with her picture on it that's like a driver's license. You can get them from the local licensing place in your town, at least you can here in KY because my daughter got one when she was 13 to go on a trip with a school club. That's as cool as it gets, almost like having a driver's license!

Great idea! I'll have to check and see if it is available here in Texas. Thanks!

Check out www.childsid.com I got my 2 yr old a neat little id bracelet with a train and his name engraved on the front, and his info on the back, including my cell #. They are medical grade items (stainless steel, some gold) and have an assortment of ideas (bracelets, dog tags, charms, etc). There are several images that you can have engraved on them as well, making them fun for any age. Even adults have gotten them. The company is really good too. I wasnt sure about ordering so I called and the girl walked me through what all I could get engraved. About a week later I had the bracelet, but it didnt have the train on it. The next day I got another one with the train on it and was told to keep both (no charge for the second one). The clasp is very secure (I have a hard time getting it off) and my son wears it 24/7, even swimming. Its stainless steel so it is very durable. I just buff it up every now and then. The other nice thing about the company is that if your info changes, mail the item in and for 1/2 price they will update it (I assume with a new one). And, I can send the bracelets back in when they get too small and they will add links at no charge.

One thing we do with our 3 kids is to buy the blank labels that you can get at Walmart or Staples. I wrote out one for each day for each kid and put it in the inside of the back of their shirt. I put their name, our cell phone number, resort name and room number, as well as our home address and phone number.

My kids knew that if they got separated from us they should just stay where they were...don't go looking for us....and to ask a cast member to call our cell phone. Luckily, we never needed any of this. But...you never know.
Plus...it gave me piece of mind.

I scanned my TX Drivers license and then edited the file to change my picture to my daughters. Then i changed all the info to her's and then printed it out. I then put it in her purse. BTW, she is only 6. It's just my cheap way of doing it. I also put on the back that this was not intended to be a valid ID, it was just something that has her name/DOB/address on it. She loves her "drivers license." I also give her all those stupid plastic credit cards those companies send in their applications.
