Does anyone know if you can buy identification bracelets for children anywhere at WDW or off property? I was just looking for something that wasn't too expensive and would easily attach to a small child's arm in case they would get lost or separated from us.

I had read in the news last year that WDW was also considering introducing GPS bracelets in the future that you could buy for children, but I haven't heard any more since on this.

Not sure about the bracelets but they do have a few of the DogTag type machines around we used that for DD and either attached it to her shoes or Pinned it to the inside of her pocket.

Put her name and ours with cell phone number.

second on the Dog Tag machines. I got one for each of my step kids. It has their names, our names and our cell phone number on them. I attached them to one of those little metal beaded bracelets and the kids wear them without fail when are at DW or any other large place that they could get lost. They aren't a choking hazard (as in around their necks) but they are on their bodies. It works!:thumbsup2

I ordered (but haven't received, yet) silicone wristbands recommended in another thread from Rekey Designs dot com. They come in toddler and youth sizes as well as adult. I ordered two to be used as medical alert bracelets with the symbol, her condition, and my & dh's cell phone numbers then I order one with her name in the "Waltograph" font and some crowns just cuz I think it will be cute. The bracelets are 4.99 each plus shipping for all three was $2.50.

My little guy has worn one of these on every Disney trip or other major outing he's ever been on. They're great. No problems or complaints.

Where are the dog tag machines located? Thanks for all the great information!

The one I have used before is at AK in the store between Dino and PW.

I think they have a stand at DTD

But you can ask at any GS and they should be able to pooint you in the right direction.

At MCO the US/IOA store had one as DD was into Spongebob for a while so we got her one there.

Also when we did use the Hospital type ID bracelets we always put them on DD's ankle as they were more out of the way but now with the EMH bands it could blend in well.

We also used these. But I was afraid people would not realize they had to dig inside the velcro and pull out the plastic tab (which was hard!) to get our info.

2 years ago we switched to whoseshoesid (www given in later post) and we like those better. They have lasted several trips actually! (we put our cell phones, not our resort, inside)

Search the internet. I ordered these little blue silicone bracelets you see on my children in this picture for something like $1.99. They were engraved with their first name and my and my older dd's cell phone numbers. I talked to them extensively about if they became lost to show that bracelet to the first adult they found. They were even engraved in the Disney font.

I made ID badges for my dds with stickers (Sleeping Beauty for one and Cinderalla for the other) on the front and their names and our cell phone numbers on the back. As soon as we get to DW I am going to buy them lanyards and have them wear those.

This will sound funny, but we just went to Petco before leaving home and made a gold heart with my DD's name and my cell phone number, which we put on a gold chain.

She loved her "special Disney necklace" and showed it to every princess she met.

We also introduced her to some of the CMs at the hotel and explained that they also had special Disney tags, so that if she coldn't find us, she should look for someone wearing a Disney tag and show them her necklace and they would call me.

I ordered the shoe ids from www.whosshoesid.com. Just rec'd them today. I tried them on my son's shoes and they are very easy to put on - just velcro. He may not want them on his shoes but I can but it elsewhere - in his fannyback or on his belt loop of his shorts. Haven't tried it yet on my DD's sandal. The id is a little scratchy so I'm wondering if it will rub on her feet. On sneakers the tongue stops it from rubbing on the skin. She probably won't wear her sandals much anyway.

I use a sharpie marker. I write my cell on my DS hand. It stays on all day, through sweat and water. Cheap and always there.

Remember to tell your children where you end up putting it. I pray that it never happens, but if they are lost and upset, they may not know where to find their information to show.

Of course! :thumbsup2

These are all great ideas. I really like the silicone wristband idea. I thought about those who's shoes ids, but they won't fit on DS's Disney Crocs!! I could also get a dog tag for him at my local pet store. Thanks for all of the great ideas!
