What have you guys done in the passed for ID Badges for you kids in case they get lost. I have a 2 year old... and for the most part I would imagine she will be in the stroller, but just in case. I was gonne laminate an ID information and put in her back pocket, but would a CM look there if she got lost? Any good ideas?

Have you ever lost your kids? How was that expierence? Find them quickly? Just want to be prepared cause I know it can happen to anyone! Those quick toddlers are fast!

I put a piece of paper in my son's pocket that says "My name is Mason. My mom's name is Alison. Her cell # is xxx..."

I explained to him that if he got lost, to find a CM (after pointing out their name tags) and give them that piece of paper. He's 4, but I think a fairly verbal 2yo would probably be able to do it too.

i made a laminated necklace. my son loved it He even forgot it one morning an was like MOM my name tag is in the hotel we have to go back, an we did. He knew it was in case he was lost an knew who the cm's were. I also told him to scream his little head off if some one tried to take him out side the park who wasn't an cm

We use pet tags from Petsmart. They have my DD's names on them and our cell phone numbers and we put them through their shoelaces. :goodvibes

Love that idea Renee! We've used these in the past:

The kids enjoyed picking them out. My only complaint was that the stickers curled up by the end of the day (I put them on my kids' backs). If I use them again I may consider putting them in a sleeve on a lanyard if my kids will wear them.

I have heard of the pet tags before. I recently found these products on this site:

Also, I have heard of putting a label inside your child's shoe with info on it. My only worry would be water rides but maybe the permanent marker wouldn't bleed. Also, your child would have to know how to show a CM the inside of their shoe. :)

Those tats look neat! Will have to look at those! In our past trips out anywhere we used the metal dog tags attached to ribbon that is really bright. We took those and kinda looped them through belt loops so they would be easy to take off and transfer to the next set of clothes the next day. We tucked them into the pants pockets but showed them how to pull them out if they were scared and/or lost. I have 2 autistic children and they worked for one of ours that decided to wander off into a shop. We walked in as he was pulling his tag out to show the cashier. Scary but made me happy to know he knew what to do.:thumbsup2

I bought the lanyard necklaces from ebay, they have a small zippered pouch at the end. My daughter chose Hannah Montana and my son Mickey Mouse. On the back of the zippered pouch is a clear ID slot. I wrote a note that says, "if lost please call" and I wrote both my cell and my dhs cell phone number on it, I used clear packing tape to tape it to the inside of the ID slot so its not going anywhere. I did not put thei names on it because if by chance it got turned around when we were in the park and someone could read their name, I didn't want someone to be able to lure them away for a moment by calling their name.

I love the petsmart shoelace idea.

We bought that ID bracelet for DS. It's nice because the info is under the velcro so his name isn't out where everyone can see it.

Also, speaking of lost children, I think CMs aren't allowed to call cell phone numbers of lost kids (at least that's what i remember reading one time). They take them to the lost children area and then parents have to go there to get them. I think it's still a good idea to have the phone number on there but don't expect a CM to be calling.

Where is the lost childrens area?

My DH wants to get the kids prepaid cell phones, but they are 7 and 4, I don't know if my 4 year old can work a cell phone.

When I was there last week, they had stickers you could put on your childs shirt (preferably the back so they don't peel them off) which you wrote your info on. The stickers were available at City Hall on Main Street.

In the shop at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney they have this machine that makes up little dogtag style necklaces. On one side they have your choice of cute little RC picture and on the other side it engraves (I think up to 4 lines) of whatever you want on it.

When we went my DD just bought one because she liked them. She got her name and my cell number on it just in case.

It's a coin operated machine and I think in total it was about $10, but it is soooooo cute, and such a great idea.

I have some velcro wrist bands that I bought. I put both dh and my cell numbers on there.

My sister uses temporary tatoos on their arms.

I love the idea of the dog tag, but I know one of my girls won't year it.

This is terrible but I'm not positive where the lost children area is. I was thinking it was near the baby station and first aid station but then I was trying to remember if it was actually near city hall. Maybe someone else can say for sure. If not, their website might have info or once you get there I'm sure you can ask any CM and they'll be able to tell you exactly where it is.

Hello I just bought these photo dog tags on the Artscow website. You can buy the one side or the two sided tags. I customized it with Mickey/Disney pictures on one side and our numbers on the back. if you want, you can customize to put any picture you have, including your childs. You can wear them as a necklace. Or if your kids don't want to do that, tie it onto their shoe/shoelaces so they won't come off.

There is a coupon code right now you can use that makes the tags only $1.98 and free shipping! Check it out. I bought almost 10 of them for all the kids in our group.. and some adults too :) hahaha

COUPON CODE at checkout: DOG199TAGS

once you get on the site, search for dog tags, then customize as you like. Add it to your cart, check out and then put the coupon code.. Can't beat $1.98!!! :goodvibes

I think its the Baby Care center (although there was a "Lost Parents" sign outside of city hall. In our October trip a little boy was lost outside of Pinocchio. Mom found him just as the CM got involved, and I swear I saw him in the Baby Care center the very next afternoon with dad picking him up.

CMs will search in the area for a parent for about 30+ minutes before taking the child there since most likely they will be nearby looking for them.

I'm thinking they have the parents go to city hall to report a missing child, but keep the kids in the baby care center???
