I'd appreciate your thoughts on a first timer's plan

I think you've got a really great and pretty relaxed plan in place. I'm not big on afternoon breaks myself, they have never really worked well for my family, but everyone is different. Seeing how it's a couples only trip, it will probably be nice to have some relax time at the resort/pool. I would definitely recommend some FPs for the last day. Just take a guess at which park you'll want, you can always change them later. It may even be fun to have that last day as a 4 park day, go back and do your favourite attraction in each park.

Not bad but a lot of park hoping. I agree with a previous poster that said why not stay in one park and do everything there before jumping to the next. I tend to do the first 4 days or so at each individual park and dedicate a whole day for it and then the last couple days i'll revisit and do some hopping. One additional thing I'll say is I always have to do the Magic Kingdom Sandwich-that is start the vacation at MK and end it there as well. It's always nice to start and end the trip with the castle fireworks :)

I would change the lunch ADRs at park 1 to dinner ADRs at park 2. That way, you have more than just nighttime spectaculars as a reason for hitting park 2. Just do counter sevice lunches in park 1 or back at your resort. I think that would balance out your park hopping better.

Are you water people? The waterparks are awesome. Dh and I often spend the morning in the park from RD, afternoon in a water park and disney springs at night. It feels like the perfect combo of amusement park, total relaxation and yummy food. Just a thought, if you enjoy swimming.

I keep going back and forth on the waterparks. They sounds like lots of fun but I'm worried we would be cutting the other parks short. I'd really like to ride most of the rides and see most of the shows, maybe even riding a few of our favorites twice. I think that means the waterparks are out.

A few years ago I went on my first cruise. I agonized over my excursion choices for each port. In the end we had an amazing vacation and I don't regret not doing the dolphin swim. OK... maybe I regret it just a little ;)

My husband(40) and I(39) are going on our first and possibly only trip to Disney World! It'll just be the 2 of us. We've been to Disneyland 5 times in the last 20 years so we know we like rides and shows but we're not interested in Characters or parades. We're staying at Pop and we have 7 day park hoppers. The flights are also booked so we can't change those. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Thanks Again!

If you are RD day 1, late arriver Day 2, and worn out by Day 3...I'd work a schedule out that accomodates that vacation mindset...I might plan the following (yes, this might mean swapping a few meals, but as a party of 2 still 170 days out, it should be possible)...

Tues June 6th Sleep in After Late Flight - Late morning MK - Late Linner/Dunch Plan at 3pm or so, Evening Wishes Dessert Party
Wed June 7th - RD Epcot, Lunch San Angel, Afternoon Break, Illuminations
Thurs June 8th - Kona Cafe Breakfast, Resort Morning Swim/Relaxing Break, HS 3pm on (all 3 FPs late), SW Dessert Party
Fri June 9th - RD AK, Lunch Yak and Yeti, Afternoon Break, Evening AK (if open) - if not, Cirque Du Soleil tickets or Disney Springs Dinner/Drinks night
Sat June 10th - RD MK, Lunch Be Our Guest, Afternoon Break, the alternate plan not taken Friday night
Sun June 11th - Sleep In, Breakfast Boma, Afternoon Church and More Swimming, Evening Open (total relax day)
Mon June 12th - RD Epcot, Lunch Via Napoli, Afternoon Break, Evening Hop to your Favorite Park
Tues June 13th - Day of Favorites - Book the Express Bus thing (if around) and hop to your favorite or missed rides for the week - I'd make FPs for the hardest to get item you think you'll love - Finish by 5pm - Back to Resort by 6pm to pack, shower, and change for Cali Grill 9pm...

We were 1st timers in September- my husband, son (11), daughter (8), and myself. We only park hopped one day but loved Illuminations! Our plan was pretty simple--- go early, do not criss-cross the park for other attractions, eat quick service lunch, go nap/swim and come back for the evening!! We avoided the RED days as well. It was awesome!! We rode the headliners at MK at least 6x and thoroughly enjoyed all the parks!! On our MK days, we divided the park in 1/2 and did 1/4 in the morning and came back in the evening to do the last 1/4. We did MK in 2 days. We had fun, little stress, avoided crowds and limited our walking as much as possible at DW. Enjoy your time!!
