We are in Atlanta and are supposed to drive to Disney in the morning. :umbrella: There is a ice storn just starting to hit here and we might not be able to get out in the morning. What can I do to ensure my hotel reservation does not get cancelled?

Call the hotel and warn them of the weather problem you are having and see what they tell you.
Good luck and have a safe trip.

I would leave tonight and start driving down and stay at a hotel south of here or if you are flying get down to the airport!!

Debbiedoo-
I just wanted to comment on your beautiful Tinkerbell!!
Your idea sounds like a good one too.
Just leave tonight.

P.S. Where can I get my countdown?

go to the technical support thread. They have all sorts of neat stuff there. Pictures, countdowns, etc. . . .

I have some neat pictures, i'll try to pm or email ya!!

Trust me she needs to get further south!! Where she is at she will have a hard time. I leave in alpharetta and it is sleeting one county over. We have had this warning for a couple of days now, but ya never know about that weather man!!!

I wish I could leave tonight but I have to work tonight til about 4 am. If there was anyway I could get out of here I would be gone but unfortunatly I can't. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad.

I live between Cumming and Alpharetta, and we just got home about 30 minutes ago. While the freezing rain still wasn't affecting the roads (just wet), our car was covered in ice. It won't be long until the roads are a sheet of ice. The worst is supposed to start hitting after midnight is what they are saying on the weather.

I would also call Disney also if it's too bad and see what they say.

Good luck in getting out of here and drive carefully if you decide to leave tomorrow.

Call them and explain - you may still have to pay for the first night. We had car trouble on our way in June. We had to stay an extra night in Savannah to get car fixed. I called them and explained the situation. They confirmed my reservations and said they would hold them, but I would have to pay for night I was supposed to arrive.

We're in Columbus, and all I'm seeing here is rain. I just looked out my window and I see no ice at all and we're on the north side of town right by I 185. Weather channel online for here says 32 feels like 23, wintry mix. OMG, I just looked at the local radar map though and it shows ice and snow between you and I! Good luck, I'm sending pixie dust your way!

Lots of good advice here....call Disney ASAP and see what they can do for you. If you do leave, PLEASE be careful. I've lived in Alaska and had to drive on ice and snow for 3 years! WHEW!! First year scared me to death! :scared1: I would forget to pump the brakes and car would go sliding right through a red light. :rolleyes1 Good thing other drivers had lived there longer or were just better at driving those conditions than I was at that time.

Be safe and no matter what, enjoy your trip!

Blessings,

Denise :sunny:

Please be safe, take your time driving and have a wonderful trip. I hope you are able to get out when you plan to. :umbrella: :earboy2: :Pinkbounc
