First let me say I will be traveling to WDW with DD cheer squad and some of the parents. One of the parents is a very good friend of mine and she is a total ice tea snob and she needs her tea everyday! ;) I have never paid much attention to the tea at WDW. So all you tea snobs out there, where can a girl get a good glass of ice tea. We will be staying a ASMU. TIA :goodvibes

Most of the places that sell soda will have Peak Iced Tea. Some may only have 1 flavor, others have 4. Not bad, but it is from a mix and not fresh made. Beyond that, you don't have a whole lot of choices. Epcot does have some other choices in WS, iced mint at Morocco, and a few others in the China/Japan areas.
In AK, you can go to the Royal Anandapur Tea Company who will have a dozen or so loose leaf teas to choose from.
I don't know if the other 3rd party coffee locations have iced tea or not, but those would be your best bets.

Are you looking for sweetened or unsweet tea- if it is sweet tea then she is out of luck. DH has never found a place on property that sells sweet tea except for McDonalds near the All Star Resorts.

She drinks unsweet, but she will want fresh brewed. Is it a close walk to McD's from ASMU? That may be her only choice, unless we bring some bags from home and make with the coffee pot.

I don't think you can walk to McD from ASMu. You won't automatically have a coffee pot in your room, but you can request one. Failing that, you can get hot water from the drinks island at the foodcourt. If she has a particular brand she likes, it may not be a bad idea to bring some of her own bags and go that route. We stayed at ASMu in April 2009 and my DD who was 7 at the time also loves tea and iced tea. Tea drinkers are very fussy - I think more so than coffee drinkers (personal opinion ;)) and she did not like the Nestea teabags they had out at the drinks station so she went with iced tea and preferred the bottled ones from the refrigerator (Nestea I think). But again, these were slightly sweetened and certainly not fresh brewed.

Have you spoken to your friend about it?

I am a tea snob, and I freely admit it. As a matter of fact, I drink a morning cup of coffee on most days, and after that, it's iced tea, hot tea or water for the day. As far as my opinion of the tea at Disney... it echoes my opinion of the coffee. It's swill. I pack my own tea bags for the trip.

If she likes Twinnings, she can get that in Epcot.

If she is a tea snob, tea brewed from a coffee pot will not do. :scared: I always travel with a hotpot and tea bags. I brew my own iced tea as well. Plenty of ice available at the resorts. Sometimes I'll buy a box of Twinings in the UK in EPCOT.
The teas out of the machines are ok, but nothing to write home about.

When making it in your room, you may want to use bottled or filtered water.

IMO, tea made with FL tap water is nasty. :snooty:

Olivia's at Old Key West has fresh brewed sweet (and unsweet) iced tea.

Most of the TS places have brewed tea (ask the server) but the CS places have that nasty tea.

Exactly what she said from another iced tea snob here! I had great iced tea at most of the CS restaurants - Le Cellier, 'Ohana, Chefs, even the buffets like Garden Grill and 1900. I'd read before our 2009 trip on the forums that some people said the new Peak tea was pretty good at the CS restaurants. Got it at Restaurantasaurus (where you can serve yourself) and ended up spitting the first mouthful into the nearest trash can, then dumping the glass and just going with soda!

As a Southern Girl, I have to have my sweet tea!! Things may have changed in 2 years, but in all our trips, we could always get sweet iced tea from Columbia Harbour House at MK! I'll find out in 5 days... got my fingers crossed that they haven't stopped making it there!

At the ASMu food court, she can get hot water. If she has her own tea bags, she can brew her tea; otherwise, she can buy a cup of tea or get it in a refillable mug. Then she can get a cup/mug of ice.

Trails End had brewed sweet tea when we were there last year, it was very good. But I don't know if it's available unsweetened and of course it's pretty out of the way.

I LOVE iced tea. I drink unsweetened iced tea w/lemon every day...drinking one now. :drinking1

However, I usually skip iced tea at WDW. I'm picky about it and don't want to chance it not being good, or accidentally sweetened. :scared:

I did have a hot tea at Royal Anandapur Tea Company in AK. It was great. They offer iced tea, but I'm not sure what kind.

Thanks for all your responses, I just told my friend your answers. We will be coming down on a charter bus, so she is going to buy a gallon from Chick fila and put it in an ice chest. That will last her a couple of days and then she will drink something else. Unless we are at a table service and she will ask about their tea when we order. Again, thanks so much!!:thumbsup2
