Ok, forgot to put this in my reviews, but we went to Ice Station Cool in Epcot for the first time this trip. For those that don't know it's in Future world. Look for a structure that has a big arch that looks like ice and snow. You walk through a series of tunnels and plastic "flaps" to keep the cool in.

At the end there is an area put on by Coke. There they have dispensers with small paper cups and you can sample about 8 different soda's from around the world FREE. They tell you what country they sell them in. Some are quite good and it would be a nice break on a hot day.

AND... yes everyone who has been there is already laughing... one that is absolutely horrible. The Beverly from Italy is the nastiest thing i have tasted. We had alot of fun watching people go through them all and could tell when they got to that one. I knew ahead of time and still tried it, you will too you know it, just not as big a drink as those that don't. I'm still laughing about the guy who was going to prove he was a man and could handle a whole cup full ..."OH MY GOD! UGHHHH". They also have a guy there with a mop, hmmm.

So have fun watching friends and family, but point kids away from you when they try it. :earseek:

Beverly may taste horrible but I found it works wonders for my stomach when I have overindulged in all the treats (snacks, meals, beer, etc) in Epcot. I put up with the taste, throw down a cup of it and then feel relief within 30 minutes or so. I'm not sure if it will work for anyone else but it does for me.

Ice Station Cool is one of my husband's favorite things to do in Epcot. It is a lot of fun!

omg - I'm so evil...I doubt my DH's family has checked this out before...can't wait to make them all try Beverly at the same time when we are there this weekend! hehehe

thanks for the reminder!

i am one that actually likes the beverly... it is bitters... very similar to campari, an (alcoholic) apertif... and it is very settling for one's stomach as well... i find it refreshing :)

Yuck Yuck Yuck,

On my Disneymoon back in the day I told my newlywed wife how great beverly was and the proceeded to fix her a whole glass. And I think she almost had to use the mop. My DW still talks about what I did to her and not in a good way! :rotfl:

On our last visit, DH had a really bad headache from Rockin' Rollercoaster at MGM. :headache:

We were headed to Epcot and he almost had us change plans & go back to the room so he could try and 'sleep it off' but agreed to get some asprin in Epcot instead.

On our way to pick up asprin in WS we saw the Ice Station and decided to stop in for a quick sip. He found that the drink from Israel (can't remember the name) completely eliminated his headache :drinking1: and we are talking instantly -- all trace of pain was gone and stayed gone all day.

Don't know what was in it but it sure saved our day!

The one from Israel i remember being very good with a lemon citrus taste, and i believe China with a watermelon taste. I think those were my favorites, but i may have blacked out after the Beverly.

If you like it, and i think you are in a very small minority, maybe you have some Italian in you! Like i said watch the people at the other stations (there are quite a few and they all have the same samples) when you are done. And with your family distract them, grab the one next to it, gulp it down and "oh that Beverly is good try that" Let me know how you make out, really!

I really like the Germany drink- I think it tastes close to coke! And Israel is pretty good too!

I love watching the reactions when someone tries Beverly for the first time. It's especially fun when the kids set up their parents with a nice full glass.

I love tricking people into thinking beverly tastes good. Hee hee!

Except for Beverly, they're all pretty good. The watermelon drink is yummy :D

I like the Beverly too, but you have to sip it in SMALL doses. My son (9) gagged on it!

I actually don't hate Beverly - but I don't think my Am Indian/German Amish/general American mutt heritage has any room for Italian - so I'm just weird. And my husband and best friend, both of whom were tricked by me into having some, are still a bit touchy on the subject (although my friend is now planning on having her husband try some, too).

But then again, I think skunks sometimes smell like pepperoni pizza.

Beverley - :scared: yick!

I love Ice Station Cool. I dig the "snow" in the entrance walkway!

I have tried all the drinks: Beverly was certainly an experience.
I would thionk that a diet drink or two should be added to the drink experience. Especially diet coke from Canada
:jumping4: :jumping4:

:cool1:

Could it be that SODA is a "treat" in our home & they can have a couple of small cups there with no problem :smooth:

Judy

PS last time we were there the CM's had to shovel the snow & tell folks NOT to throw snowballs
