The only thing I've craved since going on Atkins is ice cream. Well, my grocery store finally started to stock Atkins ice cream.

I thought it was great. The vanilla is very smooth and creamy. The chocolate was a little less, but definitely enough to satisfy me.

There are 4g carbs in each 1/2 cup serving.

Expensive but WORTH IT!

Labor Day wknd I found skinny cows (lowfat ice cream) in the freezer section - saved me somewhat from DHs 3 1/2 gal ice cream he brought home that wknd

Hi,

I purchased Breyers new low carb ice cream and it was great!

Our local Publix had it on sale buy one get one free and it was
the same price and the regular Breyers.

Tried both vanilla and chocolate - great taste.

Nutritional panel 10g carbs, however, net carbs 4g carbs per
1/2 cup serving.

It's called Carb Smart.

Thanks! I'll have to look for that one. Is it sold the same as Atkins? Atkins is sold as 4 - 1/2 cup tubs per box. It isn't sold in 1/2 gallon containers like regular ice cream.

Hi,

The Breyers ice cream is sold in 1/2 gallon containers just the other Breyers' ice cream. The carton is light blue.

Enjoy!

The Breyers ice cream is really not Atkins-friendly. The first three ingredients are milk, cream and high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is a big no-no on Atkins. :(

HFCS as the 3rd ingredient and still only 4Gm net carb per serving? How do they do it?

Dh brought home some WONDERFUL ice cream today that is Lo carb. It is put out by Klondike and is 3 carbs per serving. I think he paid a lillle over $2.50 for a box of 6. It tastes like a Wendys Frosty on a stick. Very yummy and good!!!

My latest favorite "ice cream" are sugar-free fudgsicles... chocolaty and they last a long time! They are such a treat and fulfill my chocolate fix--one a day, that's enough for me! YUM!!:tilt:

I'm glad you enjoy the low carb ice cream. I've never been that fond of sugar free ice cream but I love the sugar free popsicles :)

Since on WW, I have been an ice cream expert.

Slim-A-Bear - square ice cream sandwiches that are delicious and creamy. The size of a Klondike bar, square but only 2 points.

Smart Ones Giant Fudge Bar - stocked my freezer with these. Easy 1 point bars whenever I crave chocolate.

Skinny Cow Giant Fudge Bar - creamier than the WW brand but add 1 more point to it. (2 points)

Smart Ones Giant Sundae Cones - wow. very good. I enjoy the cone (I like the little bit of carb it offers). (2 points)

Slender Pies (Eskimos) - 2 point ice cream sandwich that has chocolate fudge in the ice cream.

Jello fat free pudding - Devils Food is a great one to try and it's 2 points for a 1/2 cup. Very tasty. My husband ate one and didn't know it was fat free!

Most of this stuff (sans the slim-a-bears) you can get at Costco in bulk.

These single serving ice creams help me when I have a "carb moment" or a chocolate need.

I hope they help you.

:goodvibes
