Should we or shouldn't we? We have two small children 6 and 3. Would this be a good idea. I heard so many mixed opinions about it. Should I make a PS and how easy will this be 3 weeks out?

Seating is limited for this, so if you plan on doing it I would call ASAP for your PS. That said, my DW and I did it and enjoyed it immensely. The ice cream sundaes were good and we had some great character interaction. It seems sort of expensive to some, but what at Disney is inexpensive?

It's a terrific way to take an afternoon break at Epcot, meet Mickey, Pluto, Chip 'n Dale. I'd go for it. It'd make a great memory for you and your family.

We took our daughter to the ice cream social this past September and she was 22 months old. She absolutely loved it! The characters came around twice and spent a good deal of time with her and of course she loved the ice cream too. It was a fun and inexpensive way to cool down, relax and meet Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale in the middle of a hot day. Our server kept checking on us to make sure the characters made their way to our table and to make sure we were okay with drinks etc. We will definitely do this again. :D

We went to the Ice Cream Social the last week of August in 2001. Our kids were 4 & 2 at the time. We had a blast. Pluto came to our table two or three times and spent quite a bit of time there during each visit. Mickey came by very quickly. Chip & Dale were there also but their visits were short also. I think Pluto was the best. The sundaes were wonderful. I think that for $6.99 per person this is a deal considering the type of character interaction that we got.

As a matter of fact, I just made PS for the Ice Cream Social for during our Labor Day trip I just planned. I can't wait to see the kids faces when they see the characters.

We went to this in January and had a really nice time. The ice cream was really yummy and the characters literally sat with us and colored with our daughter for a good 5 minutes. The place was empty - but I only go in January so I don't know how the crowds will be for you. I thought it was worth it, and our daughter has just told us she wants to do it again this January.

We liked it! We went in March and really enjoyed the break in the afternoon. It was actually our first 'character meal' (even though it isn't a meal). My twins were 9 and they liked it. The ice cream was very good.

We took our DD in May (she was 3 1/2) and she loved it. It was the highlight of our trip for her. I'd definitely try to get a PS and then play it by ear. One tip though if you're trying to keep the cost down, don't order drinks with the ice cream. They'll bring ice water with the ice cream and sticking with this really saves money.

I think you should definetly try to go to the Ice Cream Social! I went in May and there were hardly any people in the restaurant! The characters came by a couple of times and were really playful :) I thought the ice cream was good too ... it was a little too much for me though.

When we traded a character meal for this choice, it seemed like a money saver for us! We grabbed some fast fare for lunch in the Land and then to this for dessert! We've done it twice and enjoyed it both times. The interaction seems more intimate due to the layout of the Garden Grille. You may also request the sugar-free version of the dessert so diet-conscious folks will feel included!

We to plan to do the icecream social in January. Does anyone know if it is necessary to make PS that time of the year? We will probably avoid the weekend, but don't know which days we will be in each park.
