Just got a kiddie size soft serve at the local ice cream establishment and was sticker shocked at the $3.18 price. I know inflation is a thing at the moment but that’s kind of ridiculous. (It also satisfied a craving and was completely worth it).

Where I am that's about 4.50 and small size. However, it's typically an overpriced place.

I saw some friends today, one said he went to Dairy Queen and got a peanut buster on the way home from a cook out and it was $8. That seemed crazy high to me.

$6 for 2 scoops hard ice cream in a tourist town in upstate NY. We went to the next town over where it was $3.50.
South of Baltimore the price for 2 scoops is $5 - 6.

While ridiculous we can’t get a Dixie cup ice for 3.18 next size is small- no more kids size so long as you buy something if it makes you feel any better. Years ago I would take my son bike riding I would get a large ice for 4 and we couldn’t finish it. My brother in law who never says anything walked up to an ice cream truck got a double cone chocolate on one side vanilla on the other soft serve no sprinkles it was 12 he had some choice words…….next time ask first 😂

IDK about soft serve prices but a large chocolate peanut butter milkshake is $5.75 from my local place. Its big and filling.

It’s even bad at the grocery store. The prices keep going up, and the containers get smaller. It’s difficult to find a true half gallon, and then I patiently wait for a sale on them before I will buy. The 14oz almost pints used to be $4-$5 for a full pint and now some of them are double that for less. I love ice cream, but it’s really ridiculous.

Oof, yeah I believe it. The PBP is what my husband likes to order (we don't go to DQ very often); we're in Canada and it's $8.49 CDN now which is...yikes. But cheaper than in the US I guess as that equals $6.22USD lol Still, at $8.49 we need to share :rotfl2:

Oh, no! I don’t share my PBP with anyone. You have to get your own!

(Not that I get them, as they closed the only DQ in our area years ago)

Certainly many have seen the viral video of the British girl complaining about the price of ice cream.

$5.99 at our local place. It's a former Dairy Queen. Owner ran it for 30 years as a Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen said she had to spend $500,000 to remodel. She said "no", the remodeling would not improve her ice cream or food and she would have to jack up prices. She took the Dairy Queen name off, taped over the Dairy Queen name on all the equipment. Blizzards became Glaciers. She ran it that way for 10 years and finally retired last year and sold out.

Pints of B&J at supermarket is $6. We haven't bought one in about two years. The only place I can think of for a $2 milkshake or soft serve ice cream (it may change a bit week to week) is Market Basket in New England where they have Market Kitchen (certain stores). It is not the quaint seaside place to get ice cream, but I see lots of people buying them.

We stopped at Dunk's the other day to ponder which John Deere tractor DH wanted. We bought two sandwiches, two small frozen coffees and it was $20! Crazy! Oh, and the tractor gets delivered today LOL!

Its $5 at baskin Robbins(hard scoop). $2+ for soft serve at McDonald's. I remember when Thriftys used to be 15 cents. Now its $2.99-3.49...

Whole Foods has had 50% off of most ice cream products, good until July 16. (50% off for prime members, I think it's 44% off for everyone else.) I have walked up a couple of times to take advantage of this sale. Love me some coffee chip ice cream!

We rarely go out for ice cream any more, just eat it at home.

Thanks for pointing this out. Went to While Foods and stocked up. We usually only eat at home because we need non dairy plus there are a couple other ingredients we have to avoid.

My mom used to get Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream because she loves their Butter Pecan ice cream until they changed the flavor and then they raised the price of Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream and then Mom quit buying Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream because of this. But if you can find a deal on the small cups of Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream at your supermarket go for it. Because when my mom and I eat Ice cream we buy the small cups of Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream whenever our supermarket has them on sale and we save a buck. I think the main reason why ice cream prices have gone up is because ever since they have changed ice cream and it's become so hard to find the traditional ice cream flavors of vanilla chocolate and strawberry in ice cream today. And it's being replaced by mocha ice cream Italian spumoni hazelnut pecan ice cream and mint chocolate chip or almond mint ice cream and it tells me that ice cream has changed a lot. And if you buy ice cream sandwiches you'll find chocolate chip flavored ones and coffee flavored ones too and what I think is that this is why the reason why ice cream prices have gone up
