Has anyone been to ICE at Gaylord Palms.

We are visiting Orlando in November and have planned to visit ICE.

Has anyone been previously? Is it any good.? is it worth the money..?

Cheers

We thought ICE was a lovely diversion (great for a day out of the parks). There are also several 'events' going on at Gaylord Palms during the ICE festival, with singers, free hot chocolate, a large gift shop and more. Take in lunch at one of the restaurants, wander the incredible atrium and you've got yourself a full afternoon's entertainment.

The ICE show itself is beautful. The whole family enjoyed the ice slide, which can take up quite a bit of time if you're traveling with smaller children!

Not seen Ice but did stay at The Gaylord last time for 2 weeks, it is a great hotel! Don't forget to have your pic taken holding a baby Alligator.

I was wondering about this too. It sounds like something very different to do instead of the parks for an afternoon. I know the ticket price isn't out yet, but anyone know what it was last year for some idea?

I'm glad that it's not only my children that think this is a really funny name, although they did love seeing the private helicopter landing on the front lawned area as we drove past 2 weeks ago :goodvibes

Must be my immmature sense of humour !!!! :-)

As an American, there isn't anything odd or funny about the name Gaylord Palms. The first time a Brit pointed it out to me it took me a while to figure out what they were snickering about.

You aren't the only ones who think it's funny. Apparently it's a pretty 'obvious' chuckle! :teeth:

Oh Right. I thought it was a universal thing...

But wasnt the characters name in 'Meet the PArents' something like Gaylord Focker? I just assumed the Gaylord bit was a joke as well or is it just a weird first name ?

It's just a weird name, like a doofus or something (a simpleton, a nerd, a dork....). We don't really identify with the term 'lord' here, gay-lord or not! :teeth:

It's like the term 'cow'. If you call someone a cow here, they just think you mean they're fat. ;)

So what is ICE ?

I went there last year with my 2 kids and they had a blast. Be sure to dress them warm cause the ice get much colder then the little snow we get in georgia. I recommend it to families, it was a lot of fun. Something we would definitly do again.
