I wouldn't go back to high school for anything!

So after the movie they get to "I's" house and "B" acts like she was supposed to stay there for the night. Says she "misunderstood". Her parents don't know these people at all- I hope it was okay that she stayed there, but I wasn't going to go chase her down in the middle of the night.

High School is crappy.

Sorry, but not matter how crappy HS is and how catty "B" was to your DD she was your responsibility. It would not have been ok with me for my HS aged DD to stay with people I don't know. Her parents left "B" in your care and and you had the responsibility to "chased her down" and bring her home with you. Failing that, you should have called her parents to do the chasing or make the decision to have her sleep somewhere else.

Sadly, for some girls, this doesn't end after high school. I saw things (and had things happen to me) like this in college and even now that I'm out of college. Fortunately, I'm old enough now that it doesn't get to me like it did in high school. Just remind your daughter that friends who make her feel bad aren't friends at all. Once I realized that for myself, and cut those people out, I had a lot less heartache in my life (and found out what real friends were!) Good luck to her!

I disagree. They dropped her off at I's house earlier in the evening, not mine (hence she was not in my care). This agreement was made through our daughters and the parents and I never spoke. One of the reasons I will NOT give her a ride tonight is because I will NOT give the impression that she stayed here. If their dd is lying to them it is not my problem. Maybe they knew- maybe both girls cooked this up in advance.

Thanks guys. I'm just realizing who my real friends are, who I can count on, and who I can't.

I was really suprised the B and I haven't called me all day, but what's to be expected of witches? Oh, and they're not getting a ride tonight and they wont be coming over here anytime soon.

:grouphug: to Megan...girls are evil.

When I read this post I realized I hadn't seen her around much on the CB lately...did we scare her away? ;)

Kind of, I had a post a while back, it was about christmas music or something and people were really nasty to me and called me crazy and such and I haven't been back. But it wasn't you Mal! :)

:grouphug:

Sorry you had a bad night. Sounds like you are better off without either of them!

Ugh, girls can be such catty snots. Sorry your DD had to deal with that. Unfortunately, it's something that never really ends no matter how much you age. The mean girls usually go on to be mean women and then you have the joy of dealing with them in your adult life  The other thing is, girls are so dead set on impressing guys and don't realize half the time what fools they are making of themselves in the process. Don't worry, karma works in mysterious ways ;)

Megan, it's nice to see you here. Sorry you had to deal with such a stinky situation though.

Don't let anyone scare you off again Megan. Your a joy to have around.

As for those girls your too good for them.

It is horrible. My DD12 is going through it. I had a high school teacher tell me that grade 6-9 girls are the lowest form of life. I don't remember my friends being that evil, but I suppose we were. I wish we could protect them from this kind of behavior.

Get out of here!!! People are so wound up at times :sad2: Was that the one that I told you I watched Elf the night before?

:grouphug: to your DD.

Off to get a lock to protect my littleones. Where is that tower again? :rotfl:

I told her I would avoid both girls. They wanted a ride from me tonight and guess what? I don't think so. Unless dd really wants me to give them a ride- which I doubt because she is so upset.

Say it again, Sister! I'm feelin' ya! I've been in a crappy mood this afternoon because DD13 had drama with one of her "friends" over a movie they were supposed to see. Anyway, I found out that the friend stole some of DD's money the other night when they went to see a movie together. The friend took DD's $10 to the snack stand for med. coke and med. popcorn and said DD didn't have any change! :furious: DD didn't want to make a big deal about it because she said we will sound "poor" if she makes a big deal out of $5. :rolleyes1 Anyway, I found out about this today when I was dropping DD and another friend off. They had been trying to call the friend who steals and she wouldn't answer the phone. She called just as we were pulling up to the theater and got all huffy because I wouldn't come get her. She had just woken up at 3PM! Hello, you don't just sleep all day then expect people to stop what they are doing and come pick your lazy @$$ up! She called the other girl on her cell phone and swindled her into paying for her ticket while she tried to get a ride. :sad2:

I know when it comes to girlfriends at that age, 3 is a crowd. I never let DD go for extended periods of time when there is only 3 girls together. They always seem to gang up on one or leave one out. Just not nice. (I think I am like this because I am one of 3 dds myself! I know the scene too well.)

Unfortunately, you're right. I remember being the "referee" between my two best friends in jr. high and beginning of high school. They didn't like or get along with each other, but they were friends with me. They would say bad and nasty things about the other to me. :confused3 :confused3 I hated being in the middle. :sad2:

OP, your DD's friend behaved like an idiot. I think your DD needs to talk to her friend about what she did. That was just wrong! :sad2:

Oh geez. Glad to see it's not only highschool where this happens. I don't blame you at all, but I am going to say what I tell my own DD "Ignore the mean kids. THey aren't worth it!" And that goes for RL or here on the DIS! I know it still hurts though. :grouphug:
