After stating that I did not want to rent points I am no seriously considering it.

I did the math and two nights at DLP would be either 90 points or about $500. Assuming the $10 per point range..... I would come out ahead by a LONG shot.

So you may see me rent yet. Who knows?

The important thing is that you would still using your points to stay at Disney. You're just doing it in a more cost effective way. At least that's how I justify renting to pay for our cruise.

Whatever you decide needs to be right for you. Good luck with your decision.

Yeah... I can relate. I always thought people were kind of nuts to take the trouble to rent out points and use the cash for cruises, etc. I felt that we purchased the points to use so why not use them on a cruise. Well, after the cruise points increase, we are probably going to rent them out and use the cash. Instead of using ALL of our years points for a cruise, we would be able to take the cruise and still have close to 150 points left over.

..............Its really the only choice DVC is leaving us with the point increases in cruising every year.

Actually the cruise does not seem as bad to me as Paris and I think where I am really getting burned on DLP is it would just be me (I have a few extra days after my mom leaves.) The points price might be OK if I got to use BOTH passes, but.....

I figure I could rent 100 points and upgrade to the Disneyland Hotel or just make a few hundred. We will see.

(Option 2 is just to get a hotel room in Paris. I am staying there for several days at the beginning of the trip, but I do really enjoy Paris!)
