We're planning a trip to DL this year, planning on spending 4 nights - 5 days in the park. Right now, we're looking at Thurs - Mon on Memorial Day weekend.

Well...we just received a call from Radio Disney and we won 4 2-day park hoppers!!!! yes!!!!

BUT...once I adjusted the budget to account for the winning hoppers, we're only saving $100. That's it! Is that possibly right? Basically, I reran the searches for the same dates, but requested a 3-day hopper instead of a 50day since we now have the Radio Disney 2-day.

Any suggestions on how I can make the most of these 2-day hoppers while still going for 5 days?

Go on two trips :thumbsup2

(depending on if either tickets have expiration dates)

is it possible to upgrade the tickets you won to 5 day hoppers so you don't have to pay full price for the extra 3 days? that's why you won't save much, because the cost per day goes down if you stay longer.

I would upgrade the 2 day to 5 days. That would be the best value.

Congratulations! Disney wants tourists to spend as much time in the park as possible, so I don't see why they would not allow you to upgrade, though you might have to do it on-site. (That might negate some of the savings too, since you'd be buying tickets in-person instead of on the Internet, but if your adult hoppers are worth $151 then you'd likely "only" have to pay $100 to upgrade each to a 5-day hopper, which isn't bad). Perhaps you can contact them to find out?

Good luck!

Duh! Why didn't I think of that. :confused3

OK - I'll try upgrading to recoup some of the savings.

Thanks!

Next question...what should I do with the savings???!!!

Just playing devil's advocate - check the T&C for the tickets you have won. They may not have any "value" for upgrading, and therefore you may have to purchase a separate 3 day ticket.

That was my thought. Many times these tickets have "comp" written on the back, in which case there is no upgradable value. Best to check with DLR before you go to make sure.

The tickets were free, I don't think they can be upgraded. Sorry. Congrats on your win tho!

Is there someone you can call about the tickets, either before or after you receive them? In a perfect world, at least, Disney would work with you even if they are comp tickets, especially since you won them through Radio Disney. But if there's an issue I doubt it could be worked out at the gate. :flower3:

If you can't possibly upgrade, another option might be volunteering and then upgrading those volunteer tickets to 3-day hoppers at the gate. I think that would cost $132 per adult ticket, which isn't THAT much more than the cost to upgrade a 2-day hopper to a 5-day (I think you'd still be saving about $77 per adult ticket off of buying 5-day hoppers straight-up).
