I won an XBOX 360! WOO HOO!

Give it a try. You might like it. It is a bit frustrating at times, but you only use the 2 joysticks. No button mashing or crazy combos to learn. It is so random. Good for lots of laughs. You can roll up food, animals, people, trees, buildings, islands, ships, etc. The music is amazing as well.

Oh, then I might like it. I'm not a combo, button mashing, kinda guy.

Me either, but it had to happen sooner or later. "A" games have been $50 for like 10 years now. And games really are more expensive to make now. I'll buy 90% of mine used. Or wait til they become the $19.99 classics.

I hope I actually use this XBOX.

If you like 1st person shooters, you've got to have Xbox Live! My guess is they're probably not really your thing if you don't get much use out of your Xbox?

I always found it funny though that video games cost more on release and come down in price, yet DVDs seem to cost less at release, then increase in price.

No, I hate FPS. Mostly I play PC strategy games and RPGs. When I play a console I play sports games and strange games like Katamari.

Those FPS shooter games make me nauseous. Really.

I entered a Pepsi/Mt. Dew sweepstakes to win an XBOX 360 on Monday and just got a confirmation today that I won! It is a prize valued at over $580 and it will be over nighted 1 week before they are released in stores! It comes with the game Need for Speed and some Mt. Dew promo stuff (shirts, etc.) I am so excited! November can't come soon enough.

They are giving away an XBOX 360 every 10 minutes between now and Oct. something. I believe they are giving out some 9,000 units. If you are interested in the contest, go to: Every 10 minutes Promo

Congrats. However I've won two similar previous Dew contests and they never cam early like they said. They next-day them so you get them on the release date, not before. "Win it before you can buy it" is what they call it, not "get it before you can buy it"

Thanks for the heads up. I will be disappointed if it doesn't come early, but I am just happy to have won something. I have never won anything this cool before.

Good for you!

DH and his team built some of the new chips for the latest Xbox. Lots of intensive labor went into that dang box. They worked round the clock some days. Microsoft was tough with the deadlines..

herc.

Cool! My fiance will be jealous :)

My dd's bf Matthew would be so jealous of you! He's dying to win one himself, lol. :) Congratulations and have lots of fun!

My dh and ds would be so jealous (I don't have to tell them! ;) ). They are both really into Xbox. I'll have to go out and get some Mt. Dew today and give it a shot!

That's cool. I will let you know what I think when it comes. From what I have seen so far, the graphics look amazing. Like I said, I have no experience with XBOX yet. I can't wait to get it, but I found out yesterday that the release date has been pushed to mid Nov. They say it should be out no later than Thanksgiving as they want it out in time for the Holidays.

This will definitely make up for the fact that Nintendo delayed release of Zelda until 2006.

I am not a happy camper about this contest. I entered the code and it was accepted as valid but then I went to enter it in the sweepstakes only to find it wouldn't load on Firefox. So I read the fine print and it said it wouldn't work on Firefox on Mac OS X. Fine. So I tried on Safari, still a no go. So I fired up IE and it still wouldn't work. So my code is accepted but I can't enter. Looks like there is some sort of glitch for those using Mac OS X. It really makes me mad as I specifically bought Mountain Dew to enter the contest.

Would someone who has a PC be willing to PM me so I can give you my Mountain Dew code and yahoo log-in and password to see what the deal is or at least enter it in the sweepstakes for me?

You should try Fable, it is great, I am playing right now. On the new system they have a Fable 2. I just can't wait.

Me too. And you won more than I did. I only won the XBOX as far as I know. We'll see if anything else come with it.

Believe it or not, I also won a regular XBOX last year. It was at my wife's Christmas party. I wasn't supposed to win but you had to be present to win and the guy who should have won had already gone home. I've used it maybe 3x in the whole year.

I'm a PS2 guy.

Hey since you didn't play your old X-box, you can give me the 360 since you probably won't use it. Wouldn't want it to clutter up the house or anything! :teeth: Or even better---you can give it to me when I win our dis fantasy football league!

I'm a Nintendo girl too! though I do like the PS2, but I'm not planning on buying the PS3. I fear that the Revolution will end up being the only resonably priced system. Which means it'll be my only one--besides all of my different Gameboys.

Anybody played Nintendogs yet? It rocks!! :pug:

Anyway Crongrats OP!!!

I have played the demo at several stores. It is really cute, but I don't like playing games that you can't beat and don't have an ending (Animal Crossing, Sims, Harvest Moon). It's not that I don't like them, I just get too involved in them and then my real life starts to slip away. It is hard enough for me to put down games that have levels.

Another PS2 game that totally rocks, is extermely easy and a quick play is Lego Star Wars. DH and I loved playing it together as it is 2 player co-op and we both love Star Wars. I think it is a great game for parents to play with their kids. It is easy enough for a non gaming adult to pick up very quickly and should be a familiar storyline for most.

Then NEVER, EVER, EVER play World of Warcraft on the PC! :teeth: You won't sleep, you'll gain 10 pounds, and you'll dream about it!

BTW, that whole Nintendogs thing seems kinda cool. I mostly play games with no real ending.

That's the way it was a few years back when I was playing Sims Online. Never left the computer except to go to work. It was awful. Never again...

Well, the 360 finally came on Sat morning at 9:30 AM. We had a big party on Sat night to celebrate and it was a blast. The system is amazing. The graphics and sound are top notch. I was not too excited about any of the games, but so far the 3 we have played have exceeded my expectations. We have Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero and Need for Speed: Most Wanted. We were able to hook up to XBOX Live and play online. We met some others who won their systems from Mt. Dew. It was so cool to be able to have the console before it was released in stores. I don't think DH and I will be getting much sleep over the next few weeks. If you are on the fence about getting the 360, you should definitely check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.
