I won $500 from movietickets.com...again!

We usually buy our movie tickets online and from amc theaters, i guess it goes through movietickets.com. Well i was looking at my account a few months back and it said I got 100 points for every ticket bought and i had over 10,000 points in the last say 5-7 years since i never really looked at my account there. they now have a silent bid auction, where you bid your points for a $50 concession card, $100 card or a years worth of movies, paid as a $500 visa card. I bid all my points and low and behold, i won! they dont tell you anything unless you win, if at the end of the month you didnt, your points return. i got an email a few days later from the person in charge of getting the card wanting my name and address and then said allow 4-6 weeks to receive. about 4 weeks later i got the card, checked the balance online and it has $500 on it. Now its put away for our trip next month. So the next month i had more points and bid again, but nothing. but the following month, i bid again,and on weds i got the email stating i won again!! got the email requesting my info the same day and again was just told allow 4-6 weeks to receive it! we leave in 5 weeks, so maybe it will arrive before we go to wdw and ill have $1000 extra thanks to movietickets.com.

I hope someone else here can win as well and i have no points now. I went to my account and it shows my points, then below it is a link to use your points and a pop up opens with the bidding info.

We buy our tickets online through AMC. Can't wait for hubby to get home since the moviewatcher card is in his wallet. Maybe we'll win something! Thanks for sharing!

Very cool! I miss AMC! We have Carmike and Cinemark here...neither can hold a candle to AMC!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Second of all...DOH! I had no idea about the point system -- apparently I had to sign up for it -- was not subscribed to the rewards program. I ONLY use moviewatcher for our tickets and would have had buckets of points.

But it looks like I got 500 points to start off, so moving onward and upward.

Just so you know, it doesnt have to be for amc theaters only. any theater that uses movietickets.com you get the points for. We just happen to you amc, then it transfers us to movietickets.com when we buy the tickets.

There are no theaters by us, but the cheap theater in a nearby town is on there. . .BUT they charge a $1 service fee for each ticket. . .and the tickets are only $2.

Ours shows the $1 service fee, too. But if you have a MovieWatcher card, the service fee is waived when you check out. Unless because the tickets are so cheap it's an add-on by MovieWatcher?

when i won i had bid approx 9000 points once and 10,200 the second time, but you dont know what anyone else bids since its a silent auction, which i dont like, but its worth a try!

Oh cool! Thanks for that info. I do like taking my kids to that theater. . .the 4 of us can go see a movie, get a lg popcorn and a lg drink for less than $20.
