I wish vmk could do some thing about the scammers..

I realize they must get a ton of reports, but I got scammed today and it just seems so unfair. I was trading with <name removed> in his trade room. I had gold ears up in window, and he offered a yellow explorer shirt, and a ride piece. I told him it wasn't enough, so he added a stone throne chair. (Not sure of it's proper name.) We both agree to trade. Right away after trade I notice a brown treasure chest. Huh? He switched the throne for the treasure chest. I don't know how he even did it. He was so fast and I am sure he must do it a lot since he is so fast at it. Of course I got booted from his room after I complained to him. I reported him to vmk as well. I never saw the trade has changed window notice. This guy doesnt need to be on vmk at all.

Very sad.. I also have been scammed..sorry you are another victim. However you may want to edit your thread and remove the players name. I believe it is against the rules to post names, even if you are trying to warn others..

I'm sorry about that. Alot of people get scammed but sadly VMK doesn't ever do anything about it . Next time when the second window pops up, confirm the trade and make sure everything is there.

Agreed. VMK should really look into this. My sister who is young enough to be vulnerable got scammed out of her pink princess dress and crown that i worked very hard to get her. She didn't know what was rare at the time so the person offered and put in a flip hat AND minnie hat. she accepted because she wanted the minnie hat. the person says that they will add a bunch of funiture to make it even. So apparently they add the furniture AND take away the minnie AND flip. and the furniture was BUYABLE. And of course i didn't figure out she'd traded the items until i was helping her in a game of cute or boot. I got so mad! And she said that she got a minnie hat and flip hat so i looked in her inventory. The items weren't there. Now i NEVER let her trade UNLESS i am there and say it is a good trade AND that she is getting the items and not being scammed. I have decided to wait a while before i get her another dress and crown. That really taught her a big lesson, never ever trade items that are gifted to you and ALWAYS scroll through the trade window to make sure that you get your desired items.

I was in a room today, "spin to win extreme rare" where if you paid rare you got 10 spins. Someone ahead of me won and the owner removed a rare item from the room like she was going to trade it, then disappered. She came back after a minute when the winner had left and said she got DC (although she wasnt gone long enough to get DC and reconnect, she just left room) a number of people where paying rare. Then came my turn, I won!! So owenr traded me and said hold on let me take something off, i said ok and trade ended and i was booted!! So to everyone in line it looked like i got my prize. I came back in room with anther character and warned others in room that she wasnt paying prize and she accused me of lying.

Same thing happened to me.
My friend borrowed me a Red Space Magic Suit. I got two stuff from the
Inner Space Shop for my Brother(10) and Sister(4) for souvenir. Both of them are now rare. I gave them each one. My brother kept it and went to put it in his room. While I saw my four year old sister trading with someone and giving the rare item away! . I was really mad. I wanted to hit her on the head. But She's just a kid so I let her go. On another occasion. When I was AFK. My little sister went into my account and traded someone a Cookie Dispenser for my Princess but luckily my Brother saw her and snapped her. Thank God! Sorry for you and your sister. I never trade what is gifted.

Yep.. the text clearly says "NO MUMMY BABY, STUFF". So why on earth when I reported the matter to IN GAME CALL FOR HELP do the VMK Staff send me a message telling me to use the ignore button?
I reported it again, as she was still doing it after about 5 games. So yes, I reported again. VMK Staff then had the nerve to reply back and say that it's not a problem.
To VMK Staff: If you're not gonna' take notice of what we say, why have a call for help? Why the heck have you put that in the Safety Corner if you're not gonna' take any action on it?

Yeah.. I'm gonna' get flamed, do I care? No.
I know someone is gonna' say "Oh well.. shame, the staff are busy give them a break". I'm sorry, but the Staff's first priority should be to ensure the game is well kept, and kept to the rules. The thought that I'm trying to help the VMK Staff, and then the nerve to say it's not a problem disgusts me.
Still, I love VMK and it's staff. However the person who was on the other end of the Call For Help doesn't know the rules as well as a silly player like me.

I'm sick of it, what is the world coming to?

You really should report her on Contact Us. VMK Staff have been known
to close down a scam room when the owners who promise prizes do NOT
give them.

I don't know why you replied to me, since my comment had nothing to do
with accepting trades. But, all things considered, since my comment was
made, VMK Staff has banned those pay to play rooms.

And if anyone is reading this thread from the beginning, the most important
thing to know when doing a trade:

Slow down and review anything before you click accept. Slow down
again before you confirm accept the second time, as well.

I'd say half these replacement item scams would be prevented if the
players involved wouldn't be so quick to accept the trades without checking.
I'm positive that the original poster to this thread will ALWAYS check a
trade window carefully the next time trading.

If not...this player missed an opportunity to learn something.

You may have not gotten what you wanted from your trade, but the Gold Ears for Yellow Explorer is a pretty fair trade to begin with

1) Slow down and review anything before you click accept. Slow down
again before you confirm accept the second time, as well.

2) Never trade for something if the person promises to give you more later (that is, you don't get all the items in one trade)

3) Never let anybody borrow anything (even your VMK BFF) that you would be upset if they never gave back.

You are in complete control of all trades. No trades occur until you click OK. Nobody can scam you if you take your time and think.
