I wish they would start a frequent reward program like DCL has

I'm just sitting here thinking about all these pin codes and people being disappointed with the current system.

I'm sure something like this has been discussed before but I am thinking wouldn't it be great if they just rewarded frequent visitors? Maybe the rewards could be booking dates, special discounts, or even just select experiences or merchandise. Who knows. Anything is better than nothing and it seems like I would feel happy if someone recognized my 10th stay or whatever.

I know the argument could be made just to join DVC for a discount over time but I'm thinking what if there was a program with reward levels for the number of nights stayed on Disney property? That would be nice. I mean we get rewards for gas and groceries and all these other things, why not Disney.

I realize there would be all sorts of arguments about deluxes vs values and how much money some spend on tickets and dining compared to others but I think they could work something out.

I know many Disney fans who would do whatever they needed to be "platinum" or whatever other levels they might have.

Would you like something like this and how could Disney do this fairly? :confused3

That would be great for me as well as many others. I have been going sinc the opening in '71, now live in Fla, own Dvc, cruise on DCL, have AP's, stay on cash as well, have tables in wonderland, ...we go about 5x a year. There are plenty of people who would love it but I know that we will keep going just as much without it, and they probably know it too.

I wish you luck but a rewards system is too late for this Disney family. We have been over a dozen times in the last few years and I am sad to say that our regular trips are coming to an end. The kids are burnt out on Disney. Maybe in a couple years DW and I will take a parents only pre-Christmas trip to see all the decorations.

It sure would have been nice to be rewarded in some way for all those trips. And yes I know Disney is a business and they don't owe it to me nor do I expect it from them.

Let's face it -- the market they serve (People who Visit Walt Disney World) includes ZERO competition, so there's no incentive to offer perks as an incentive to build brand loyalty or to attract repeat guests.

Nobody else offers access to WDW like Disney.

DVC is the closest you'll get to a "member" experience at WDW (and that will change when Golden Oaks opens -- then the DVC members will be "those darn renters" :lmao:). And they also offer -- at a premium -- D23.

You also have the option of the Disney affinity credit card, which gives you tangible economic benefits if you use it exclusively to charge your day-to-day expenses. That's a loyalty program all in itself.

Anything else WDW did to engender brand loyalty would cost them money, and they're not in a generous mood right now, with all the refurb and construction going on. Example: people are still getting discounts, but not as deep and not as frequently.

DCL, however, faces stiff competition in the cruise line segment, and has to go a cut above -- a "frequent floater's" experience, if you will... It's understandable (and really doesn't cost them anything except for the differentiated baggage stickers and membership cards...). The other "perks" (earlier registration for excursions and dining preferences) don't cost them a thing.

I agree -- WDW could reward loyalty with intangible perks -- like opening the Dining Reservation window at 200 days for repeat guests (easily verifiable in the computer), offering discounts on the premium packages (but they already sell quite well at full list), or something as simple as a wallet card verifying your repeat guest status (but that would cost money). And why should they offer for free what people seem to be willing to pay for -- case in point, the annual pass. That automatically implies repeat guest status, and people are buying them at full list left, right and center.

Overall, I'm sure they're constantly considering how they can enhance the guest experience at little or no cost, and have decided that anything they can offer would cost more in manpower and materials than it would benefit their bottom line.

Wow everyone has made some excellent points. I hadn't thought of golden oaks or the visa card when I was thinking of this last night. I think if they ever did something like this it would have to be cheap like the wallet card you mentioned or maybe even different color room keys for each individual person. I personally would think it would be a hoot to have a different color card from my kids and say haha mine is gold or whatever. Lol. Of course with a big smile on and all in good fun. : ) of course unless they went retroactive which would be near impossible then I guess my whole fam would ge the same color. Lol!

Anyway, even something as simple as this and the front desk oh mr and mrs xxx you made it to this level this time, welcome back would excite me I think. Maybe I'm weird. Lol.

Now I personally know I would work up to being a double platinum quadruple platinum member if it meant I could tour the Cinderella suite. :cool1:

That wouldn't cost anything except them tracking it and using some guest service people as guides every now and then.
