would show some outtakes :rotfl:

I'd love to see someone say the new dishes are horrible! Over salted, pre-cut meat (I'm a grownup, I can cut my own meat thank u), & then everything piled on top of each other in the center of the plate. Not much ever seems appetizing to me. Guess I am just not a gourmet:laughing:

I live in your state, Randi! :yay:

There was a Restaurant Impossible epicode done at a restaurant a few miles from here. From what I understand, diners did not like the new dishes, and the menu and decor has changed a bit since Robert left. I have not tried it myself.

I live in CT and Restaurant Impossible came this past April to a restaurant in the shopping plaza where I work. Very exciting for our little corner of the world! Currently the restaurant is hanging on BUT they pretty much dumped everything that RI advised them to do. The menu was made so small and "eclectic" that the regulars complained and slowly but surely the owner brought back the old menu. The only thing that was a positive for them was the redecorating. They were in desperate need of a remake and the place looks much fresher. As with any show on TV so much of it is staged. I know for a fact that RI visited the restaurant as early as last December to plan the renovation. It's not nearly as spontaneous as they portray it to be. Once again proving...you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV!:confused3

A restaurant very close to me was featured on the show and here is an article about the owner's experience. Not exactly what you were looking for but a good read about the show behind the scenes and they didn't keep all of Irvine's recommendations.

That article made me loose all respect I had for Irvine. The manipulation of the restaurant to make it look worse than it was and his attitude are both uncalled for.

That is interesting. A local restaurant around me was featured and they had nothing but positive things to say and raved about how great Robert was.

Do you mean Stellas? DH and I used to go there when he worked at Sikorsky, but we haven't been in years, and he wants to go check it out now to see it again...

I wish they would do a show on going back to the places a year later and see how they are doing. For is 100th episode they did show some behind the scenes looks.

You guessed right...we get lunch there at least two times a week (take out). It's great to just walk down the sidewalk and grab a meal. Always plenty of good food for the price! Lots of food choices in Oronoque Plaza, except for the Chinese buffet I recommend them all!

I was just at a place featured on RI - we specifically choose some of Robert Irvine's "new" dishes and they weren't good. One was a meatball sub but the bread was way too much roll and no sauce or enough meatballs. It was dry and not good. Places like Firehouse and Subway are better.

There is another one in my neighborhood that my dad used to go to a lot 'back in the day' maybe we will check it out now.

I do like the switch to fresh foods, etc but I wasn't impressed by the place we went to.
