Hi,

DD and I were in Orlando last week We saw a lot of sick people in the parks. DD and I both got colds. I paid $9 bucks for a bottle of Nyquil at the Hess station.

Wish I had brought some.

I'm still in Florida at DD's house in Pensacola, and we continue to see people with colds, coughing everywhere. I fly out tomorrow.

I second the hat/gloves/scarf/ and a warm jacket! Every time we go in December they have record lows! I always bring a lap blanket that rolls up pretty small from Target. I'll use it for the kids to sit on for the parades and they can pull it over them too! It can get sooo cold for the night parades at MVMCP! We have never worn shorts on our December trips!:rolleyes1

I bring basic cold medicine, benadryl, advil, neosporin. I also bring Airborne- the on the go packs. I took it last time since I felt a cold coming on the day before our trip. I took it for a few days at WDW and was able to fend off the cold!

Have a great trip! We're going next Wednesday, too and will be at the GF!Can't wait!

Here are a few much needed things we brought when we went and a couple I wish I had remembered

Kid's size safety scissors-- great for getting tags off items or opening plastic "locked" purchases.

Nail clippers-- miles to walk with a hang nail anyone??

Large or XL Glad/Ziploc Bags- They come about 5 to a box near the regular Zip Loc bags. I took them out of the box to stuff in my bag to travel. Used them for laundry to go home, for safely bagging up all the little WDW bags of goodies to bring home, wet bathing suits for the trip home, etc. I find these indispensable for any trip.

Small plastic (kids size) coat hangers. I always bring a half dozen or so. We use them to hang bathing suits to dry in shower. I know they have the pull out dry cords in the shower, but sometimes it runs out of room.

Adult and children's Motrin/Tylenol, etc. Expensive to buy there and it requires a trip to the resort store to get it when you least want to go.

Small hand sanitizers for pocket book, back pack, etc. My kids touched every single railing or chain in the parks and then were touching their faces. Eww... Don't say your's won't, I found myself running my hands along the railings as we waited too :rolleyes1 .

Batteries for camera-- plus extra, extra memory cards, film, etc. It is so much cheaper at WalMart, Etc.

Best thing not to forget? That you can buy anything you need there. It just costs a bit...make that maybe a lot...more. Have a blast!!pixiedust:

We were there last year just before Christmas. It was just a quick trip and I didn't pack a lot of extras since we were flying (we usually drive). I didn't pack an extra pair of tennis shoes. We were at Epcot one night for the Candlelight Processional. It poured down the rain like I have never seen it rain at WDW. We left early and didn't see CP. When we got back to the resort my DD actually took her shoes off and poured water out of them. I was drying tennis shoes with the hair dryer until I went to bed. DD's shoes actually shrank.
I am taking extra shoes this year for our New Year's trip.

All great ideas! The only thing I would add that we have taken on our past two December trips that were indispensible is "Hot Hands". You can get them in most sporting goods stores and WalMart. When it gets very cold you take them out of the package, shake them up and put them in your golves, pockets, etc. They're wonderful, especially when you are waiting for a nightime show or parade.

Can I add a "dont pack"? Liquids in your carry on. I travel a lot and see so many bottles in the security garbage. I got caught in London - you are allowed 4 ounce or less container, my lens solution was 5 ounces - even though it was half empty they still confiscated it. I respect that, I just hate that I hadn't caught it myself.

I haven't seen this one yet.

For those that tip the maid services on a daily basis, don't forget your tip envelopes!

Don't forget Band Aids! Every year we need them for blisters!:hourglass

Thanks for all the tips, ziplock bags are a great idea, I never thought of that!

If I'm staying at a resort without a coffee maker, I always stick my small immersion heater in my bag. It doesn't take up a lot of space, and it can be a real life saver. I once got the fever and chills flu at Disney and wanted something hot to drink, and didn't have anything to heat water with.

I also like to pack either a multi plug adaptor or a power strip, as there are very few available outlets and with all the electric gadgets to charge, it can be difficult to find a place to plug them all in.

I second the ziploc bags. Those are a godsend for a multitude of uses. One of my favorites is to line my Donner bag with one if it's supposed to rain, and put any electronic items, like cameras and cell phone, in the bag to keep them dry. They also work well for storing snacks and food so they stay fresh and bug free. They can also work for putting wet rain ponchos away without getting the rest of your stuff wet.

If you have items that take batteries, it's a good idea to bring those as well, as you can usually buy cheaper than on property. Most of my stuff takes AA batteries, so I just bring a big multipack and I'm good to go.

One tip for those who run out of memory card for your camera. Rather than pay Disney prices for a new card, you can go to one of the photo centers and have the pictures put on a CD, now freeing up your memory card to use again!

1. Sunglasses: It may be dull, gray, cloudy, snowy and dark here in the northeast but the sun still shines in FLA!!!:cool2:
2. Slippers: I know, for what? Last time we went in cooler weather it was a pain to put on my shoes or sneakers to go to the ice or soda machine. Slippers would have helped!:thumbsup2
3. Hand Sanitizer: My Uncle in FLA told me the flu is running around...

Have a BLAST!!!!

Don't get stress out packing for your trip. As long as I have all of my family's passposrt and my wallet, I am good to go next Saturday.
