OK, last year's rage were those sweater jackets . . .

Now, everywhere in the stores are those crocheted ponchos!!! DD is begging for one, but at $30, I sure wish I had kept the one I bought when I was in junior high for about $5!!

You know what Deb I feel the same way about my early 80s clothes. All over Florida last week you saw the "shreded front" shirts like early Madonna and Flashdance.

Now if tight legged jeans would come back!

Uggh those ponchos look horrible on me. I'm going to pass on that trend revisited.

I'm thrilled the preppy look is in. I just bought a pink argyle sweater that I love and looks great with my trusty black penny loafers

I'm waiting for the grunge look to come back in style....then I won't have to buy any new clothes.

I was just telling my Granny that this weekend. I had a bunch of those crocheted ponchos that she made me when I was little and I was telling her that I wish I still had them for my dd! I had at least 5 of them. :( lol

I hate those ponchos. Didn't like them then and still don't now. I do remember making one for my Barbie though.:p
I'm glad to see preppy back in too. I love how neat people look dressed this way. It seems so basic but they've updated it enough. It just suits me.:)

I picked up a Seventeen magazine in the doctor's office during the summer and thought I'd picked up a vintage one when I saw those ponchos! I couldn't believe they came back!

I used to MAKE them!! :earseek:

My MOM used to make them for us...........
she did awesome embroidery on denim in the 60's too!

:teeth:

I love ponchos. I wanted one back in the 1970's, but I didn't have much spending money back then, and I didn't know how to knit or crochet. But I know how to crochet now, and I'm making myself one right now. It'll end up costing me about $5 to make it myself.

I graduated in 76 and I don't remember wearing a poncho. But a couple of years ago I told my teen that the low rise flares were bell bottom hip huggers.

What's funny is that I still had my crocheted poncho back in my closet and my daughter found it about a year or so ago, and has now claimed it. At least it's one more thing out of my closet.:)
