Every vacation I have ever gone on at some point I said "oh darnit...I should of brought "X" "
I am trying to really think of everything we will need and that will come in handy to have with us.
dd is 18mis and ds is 3.

We are staying at the BWV so we have a kitchen/fridge etc.. We will probly have breakfast here several mornings.

So for those of you that have travelled to disney with your kids, what can you remember that you has wished you thought of or remembered to bring?

A portable DVD player for each of my children! They are 8 and 2 years old and have no interest whatsoever in watching the same DVDs on the plane ride. Now that I know better, I'll do better....

If you send me your email I would be happy to send you a packing list. I took my kids to Disney at that very same age.

Little pool toy balls - the cheap colorful squishy ones - I saw a grandmother play for over an hour throwing the balls to her toddler grandson and granddaughter at the BWV kiddie pool and they absolutely loved bringing the balls back to her. I know it sounds like a simple thing but my son loved them!!!

Seriously - another pair of comfortable shoes (when first pair got wet), rain ponchos, a lightweight jacket for nighttime, bathing suits (or change of clothes) for the kids when they wanted to play in the water squirters, large ziploc bag for the water flume rides, clothespins to help hang the bathing suits to dry on the line in the shower (they seem to always fall off), little distractions for the kids while waiting in line (mini-bubbles, misting fan), dishsoap for the sippy cups.

Other things to remember - Safety plugs for hotel outlets, sippy cups, trial sizes of antibacterial cleanser to pop in purse / diaperbag, lollipop/gum for airplane, plastic disposable placemats, disposable bibs, nightlight.

Keep them coming, we're going in March for the first time with our 20 mos. old DD, I hadn't even thought about outlet covers!

Definitely antibacterial hand gel. I was dying to wash my hands after Mission Space when I thought of all the people who puke on there. I'll be coating my hands with Purel after every ride this time.

some of my own crayons/stickers etc. to keep kids amused while waiting for food--either at TS or CS, totally agree with pool toys or floaties, some favorite snacks (if you have a picky eater) there's more but I can't think of anything now.

HTH

outlet covers and mini bubbles and clothes pins...great ideas I would have never thought of! I am getting them together as soon as I post this reply! thanks!
keep em coming!

Since there are lots of good ideas posted already, I'll tell you what NOT to take: any video games that plug into the tv. Yes, they will work. Surprisingly, our 13 yo was perfectly happy to stay in the room playing his games rather than visiting the parks!!! Also, he wanted to play the games all the way to Orlando and all the way home. Normally, the kids just watch movies or play their own handheld games. On our Oct. trip, he hogged the video screen the entire time. Needless to say, it got a little ugly from time to time as the other kids asserted themselves.

dishsoap for the sippy cups.

For the bathing suits I just put the clothes line through the suit when hanging.

For cleaning sippy cups and refillable mugs I brought those disposable dish clothes that are loaded with soap. Palmolive and Dawn both make them. I've only used Palmolive. They are VERY soapy so now I cut them in half at home before I go.

Don't forget something to make your stroller stand out like a piece of ribbon.

Check the DVC board for things that people like to bring specific to the villas. We always pack: extra coffee filters (the flat basket style, not cone), our own coffee and splenda, movies for the dvd player, laundry soap and softener sheets, snacks and drinks to keep in the fridge, plastic baggies for storing food. You don't need to bring: soap and sponge, dishwasher soap (1 or 2 b/r--the studio doesn't have a d/w), paper towels. HTH

Ds4 is train freak so I have a few take along thomas sets that fit in the suitcase-we drive-and set them up when we arrive and he plays with them when he wakes up at 6 am. this has worked for 2yrs. Also he chose a whirlygig at the park and it kept him busy in the stroller. And if they run out of batteries, usually they let you exchange them anywhere in the park.

We always bring breakfast cereal, milk, bananas, pbj, grapes, snacj stuff and water with us. We bring snacks and lunch into park to offsert all the sugar and junk that is part of WDW but can also create havoc with kids.

Also bath/pool toys for both-squeezie things etc.

glow sticks for nighttime. kids love 'em

battery operated clip on fan (got it at ONE STEP AHEAD) for stroller in hot months, rain cover for stroller (rains a lot in summer), bike lock for rental strollers (my husband saw 3 people come out of Small World ride to find their rental strollers missing)

Last year we brought along a power strip. You can never find enough outlets when you are recharging camcorders, baterries for digital camera, walkie talkies, etc. It was great! Also we like to carry Lysol spray, antibacterial febreeze, clorox wipes, AA batteries (to use with those water fans), rolls of quarters and pennies for the penny presses, scissors, moleskin, and extra hangers if you have room.

When my kids were that age - Waterwings, you know the little blow up arm "swimmies" (everybody calls them something different). The 1st year we took DD she was 2-1/2 and couldn't swim. All they had were the vests at the pools and they didn't sell waterwings ANYWHERE on WDW property. DD had a hard time holding herself up in a vest and kept flipping face down in the pool. I guess it's all in what your child is used to.

Take plenty of film!!! I always buy my kids the cheap disposable cameras so they can take their own pics. I ran out and had to buy 1 extra @ AK, the 1 cost more than a whole pack @ Walmart, I think around $17.

Only becuase we went in December and assumed it would still be warmish, I wish I had brought mittens for DS and warmer clothes all around. Other than that I believe we packed everything I could think of. Ohh, I did have to buy Aleve becuase I had a headache. Wish I had packed that.
