It always struck me as odd when I would hear people - my parents, grandparents, teachers, etc. - say they remembered exactly where they were and what they were doing when JFK was shot. Now I, unfortunately, can relate.
I think the moment we heard and saw the tragedy of two years ago unfold will stay with us forever. Forget it? Never. At least in my mind it plays like a movie on continuous feed. The memory of that day will forever be a hole in my heart and soul. So many innocent lives lost by the hands of a few radicals. Terrorism hit us hard and fast on that one fateful day. And to think, there are parts of the world that have been dealing with this type of tragic event (on smaller scales) for years - day after day, week after week, month after month. It's a sad, crazy world we live in when life is not valued above all else.
I so appreciate those that are fighting to defend and preserve our freedom, to protect the rest of us, and hopefully prevent something like this from happening again. It's because of all of them that I am able to sit hear in the comfort of my own home "playing" on the Disboards.
