Anyone ever hear of a vasectomy failing after 4 years?

I'm nervous myself right now, i'm going on 4 months late for my period. I'm not pregnant, i've already had several tests to rule that out. I took the first pill on the last row(the white ones) of my birth control pills today and am hoping it starts any day now. I have no idea what would cause it to be this late. My initial thought was pregnancy but we ruled that out about 2 months ago. If I still haven't gotten it at the end of this week, it's into every woman's favorite office for some more blood work.

Been there about 4 times and DH had the big "V" about 10 years ago. It's always been stress or just plain old late for no reason. I think the worst ever was about 3 weeks.

don't worry-i'm making up for the rest of you. i'm one of those rare ones (as the gyn and my doctor tell me) for whom early menopause has'nt meant lighter 'visits' or more time between them-i've been know to get 3 in a single month (and we are talking the full 7 day visit). i can't take bc pills or most of the standard hormones (past strokes) so i just deal with it.

on the upside my husband has far less of me 'pms-ing' (probably because there's rarely a pre-during any part of the month ).

Are you an athlete--underweight or low body fat?

I apologize for the question--but those who are quite athletic can sometimes be at risk for a no show from aunt flow.

For your sake I hope this isn't the case, but I have a friends who had a baby after a vasectomy.... 10 years earlier. DH just had his done, and I'm still not sure that I will fully trust it.

I know how you feel. I was always fairly regular until DH had his vasectomy in January. Now it seems like I'm either really late or early. It's so annoying that the other day I was contemplating going on the pill that only lets you have a period a couple times a year. I won't, of course, because not wanting to be on the pill is why DH got fixed in the first place! I do hope your dear aunt arrives soon.

DH had a vasectomy when our DD was about 2 years old. So that would be 26 years ago. It took me a l-o-n-g time to really trust it. I remember being a bit late a few times and always breathing a huge sigh of relief when I started. Now that I'm 49 I'm just ready to be done with it!! I have no need for it anymore!!

I have a few friends that have vasectomy failures that are in high school now . Sorry, not what you want to hear. I would take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. On the other hand, 4 months w/o Flo would be nice IF you knew for sure why.

I know a ton of guys who have been "fixed" and only one failure. It can happen, but it's really, really rare.

Im in the same boat. Its stress. It has to be. It had BETTER be. Or I will be right there with you. No jury of our peers would convict us!


I did have a friend whose V failed but when he did the follow up appt. the nurse gave him the wrong results. They told he had a low count when he actually had a really high count and needed to go back in. they had 3 more kids after that.

I am also wating as well. I have been waiting for about two weeks for my visit. I know I am not pregnant cause you need to for it to happen. I also dont think I am stressed. I dont feel stressed. I will be waiting with the rest of you.

No, not anymore. I was a competitive gymnast for several years but I haven't been athletic for at least 2 years . I've gained a good deal of weight in the past year.
