Just when is the question. I'm Heather, a newbie around here, but definitely not a Disney newbie! Yes, I fit right in with the best of the Disney nuts :earboy2:

Here is the dilemma... It's my turn for Christmas plans this year because this past year for Christmas and New Years we visited DH's family while mine cruised around WDW without me. DH is not such a Disney fan. He has only been once for a whirlwind not-quite 3-day tour. It was incredibly rushed and I didn't even get to show him everything. I have been many many times with my family, mostly at Christmas and New Years and absolutely LOVE IT! So I want to take DH for a "real" trip to the world (and I'm secretly hoping he'll become a little bit fond of Disney, too!) So on top of it being my turn for Christmas, I will also be starting graduate school in early January 2008 for the last 3 years of my education. I will have to leave my full-time job to go back to school, so that will cut our inome in half. But the disney nut in me is craving a Dsiney fix because I haven't really visited WDW in almost three years!!! So I've decided I WILL be going this year, no matter what it takes. And hopefully this trip will suffice for the next three years until I can start working again. So what do I do? I can go in Aug/Sept when the rates are lower, and hopefully the free dining will be available or do I book Christmas now and just save my pennies and pay it all off before we get there? Christmas is expensive, especially being that we will be without half of our income in January. But that's my favorite time to go and the fam will be there... Advice? Opinions? Anything?

Because I WILL be there in 2007!!

Thanks!

What about early December? That is when we are going. We went in early Dec. '99 and LOVED IT! The decorations are all up and MVMCP is going, but the crowds are very low. It is value season, so rooms are cheaper too.

It appears that the word is out. The very low attendance days the first two weeks of Dec. are quickly becoming a fond memory. Dw and I have been during those weeks three times in the last five years and we have gradually noticed an increase in crowds. It seems more people are trying to see the decorations and miss the crowds than ever before. But attendance is still not high like during Christmas week or Spring Break, which is why Disney hosts the POP WArner football championship and cheerleading championship during that time to help boost attendance. You won't see many of them in the mornings because they are competing, but after lunch "THEY WILL COME". We only had two instances with them in parks where they were extremely annoying, but for the most part no problems with them. I would not personally go if I was staying at a resort full of them.
