I can remember years ago that a Psychic fair was due to be held at Bingley Hall in Birmingham. A week before the event there was a fire and Bingley Hall burnt down - they didn't forsee that when choosing their venue!

some folks think they are good, maybe some are, very rare I would say!I simply don't believe.Apparently there are only '7 life stories', so we can read into things that apply to anyone. Some of these crooks even go through your rubbish to get info on you and some are very good at picking up on things and reactions you make! most folks that go are at a life changing point in their lives.

don't look for answers, they are are your heart and the decisions you make in life.

I don't believe any of it. One told my friend she would have children and be happily married to the man of her dreams. My friend is gay and had previously had a hysterectomy.

Most of these psychics use a technique called cold reading. They look for signals when they say things to you and 'play' to that.

Don't go through your life looking for signals that your husband has cheated on you.

I went to see www.steveholbrook.co.uk 3 years ago just after Mum passed away. It was at Batley Town Hall of all places. Went as a total non believer for a fun night and have a laugh at him and what he does.
My Mum and DW used to go see him but I never would when she was living.
Out of about 200 people he picked me out, said he had Mum with him, he told me 15 things, 14 were spot on, some only Mum would know. The first thing he said was all she can say is she cant believe you are here, well no way would I go see him when she was alive. Another thing was DW had a ring of Mums made larger to fit, collected it from Jewellers that afternoon, he said she says you managed to get the ring done in time for tonight, There was lots more that were very personal.
I know they generalise and there are a lot of sharks in the business but 14/15 accurate statements was quite good. The women on stage after him was rubbish. I now am on the fence with all this, I believe there is some other world but too many people in it for the money to know who is telling the truth.

I don't really believe in it after watching the Derren Brown tv shows. He had a show where he talked to these people, telling them all these secrets and things about their loved ones that had passed on. People were crying and believing it was true but then he said that he had to go and tell them it was all a sham, but that he had to do it to prove his point and that it was all just cold reading.

At the same time the person knowing about your Mom's ring really is quite strange isn't it! It's things like these which make it hard to believe one way or another.

What a load of rubbish Jen. By the way isnt there a unwritten rule that psychics are not meant to tell you anything bad. Sounds like she is a walking deposit machine.

I hope it hasnt upset you too much and put any tension in the air. She is out of order to say things like that. They are only meant for guides really not to say your marriage will end etc....

i think there are some good ones, but it doesnt sound like she had one, my friend didnt know she was just pregnant found out a few weeks later, and she kept going on about water saying i keep getting water coming to me, have you got plumbing problems or something, i just keep getting water, she went on and on about it ,she told her she would have a little girl who would be early but would be fine, my friend thought little more of it .

till when she was 19 weeks pg her waters broke, she managed to carry till nearly 30, but they was unsure of how she would be, but her little girl spent just 4 weeks in hospital and is now home at 10 old weeks weighing 5lbs!.

so maybe she did know, either that or some lucky guess!

Before I went I totally thought it was a joke, after going 3 years ago, I am 50/50, I am not an emotional person, no way could he pick up anything from me as I only answered yes and no. He told me things she was supposed to be getting thru to me, I said if it was relevant to me or not with a yes or no. 14 out of 15 were very relevant to me.
Things have happened to me that makes me believe there is something out there we dont understand. I own a florist shop, I had boxes on a shelf that had been there for over a year, not near the edge but 100% secure the week my Nan died the boxes came of the shelf, I don't believe they fell, they came off with too much force. 2nd I make 1000's of Bouquets a year without thinking about it, about 10 years ago something told me to stop making 1 of them that I had just started, 2 minutes later phone rang and told me the lady had died and not to make the bouquet for her.
The strangest thing to happen was when DS was small, I usually go to bed an hour or so later than DW. I went into his bedroom to to check on him and there was an image of an old victorian lady in the rocking chair watching over him, I just saw her disappear in front of me. I did not say anything to anyone for about 5 years when it came up in a conversation on the subject DW said "you will not believe it I also saw her once, but didn't think anyone would believe it" neither of us have seen her again.
OK last one because you all now know how insane I am. Day of my Nans funeral my uncles light in his living room truned off and on again very quickly, similar time lights in my Mums living room turned on and off quickly. One of the things the above Psychic said was "Your Nan had fun with the electrics didn't she?"
I will probably never go again to find out more but I have a very open mind about it now. I think anyone that has been thru life with no experiences like me it is hard to believe, even with all my experiences I am only on the fence, but how do you explain these things?

I agree a genuine(If they are) Psychic would not tell you things that are going to happen like the OP was told.

Does anyone remember about 20-odd years ago a documentary on "psychic" Doris Stokes? She was in a theatre of about 2000 people and her first words were "Someone named John is contacting me...." One of the best comedy moments ever.
