that escape brides needed a room minimum of 15 rooms, divided 5 rooms*3 nights or however , etc. for their wedding guests/party/selves. but now i look and it says 4 nights for the couple total. did my brain go haywire?

You only need the four nights booked for the Escape package. If you have 25 rooms reserved (you and your DF, guests), you get one free night.

1 br savannah view for 3 nights for us
1 br value for parents
4 other studios value for our guests.

so do we ourselves have to stay 4 nights, or do the other rooms i myself book for my guests count too? i will be paying - with points- for their rooms myself.

You, the bride and groom, must stay 4 nights. That is what is required by your Escape contract.

And as MsEsty said above, you may want to look into creating a room block with your planner because it seems like you will have enough nights to meet the 25-night minimum.

Keep in mind if you do decide on a room block, your guests are not eligible for any kind of Dining plan for their stay! We have far more than enough nights booked to get the free night, but unfortunately I had already convinced everyone to do the Dining Plan prior to finding out that rule!

She's booking through DVC with points so I don't think the room block discount would apply. You can't combine 2 discounts like the room block discount and the dining plan, but when you book DVC you can add the dining plan with no problem because you use points to book.

If you book a DVC resort through regular reservations and pay a per night rate instead of points than you can get the room block discount. You will not be able to add the dining plan because they consider that another disocunt.

Did that make sense?


Oh, and if you are building a room block include the DVC resorts you are using your points at in the block so they apply to your free night.

Weird - it wasn't explained to me at all that way before...but your way does make more sense than the way the person at DFTW explained it to me! I am a DVC member as well and booking some of the reservations on points...good to know though!

Yeah, I was initially renting points so I looked at everything. They can't discount points just the per night rate. SO when you use points you can add the dining plan with no problem but when you pay a per night rate that gets a 30% discount they will not allow you to add the DP.

I may be wrong on that part so you'll wan to ask your wedding planner to be sure. But I was under the impression that if the actual DVC resort is included in your block and not just the deluxe hotel than they count. But I could be wrong.

I had to give my own 4 night reservation info to Bill before I received my contract. Your first/last day cannot be the day of the wedding, so I *think* you need your own four day reservation.
