We have a bungalow type house with 2 bdrms down (dd 7 and 10 share a room). DH and I want to move upstairs and give Morgan (10) our room.

The upstairs, is more or less, packed with "crap" from the time DD 10 was born. I have clothes including newborn onsies, socks, shoes etc....as well as every toy they ever had....as well as their swing, bouncy seats, car seats, bibs, bottles, anything you could think of!!!!

Also, all my maternity clothes as well as all my bridesmaids dresses I had in my friends weddings from 10+ years ago.

I was in "a mood" to "toss" today...so I took advantage of it. DH and I went upstairs and heave-hoed about 30 bags of garbage and 20 bags to good will!!!! I feel really good about it.

The past few days I was watching Clean-Sweep on TLC and think that it really got me motivated. I really didn't want to stop after 3 hours cause I think I will get into my other mode...that wants to save EVERYTHING!!!!!

I am kinda excited to start again tomorrow to finish the task.....
Just thought I would share

BTW.....some of the baby clothes bagged for goodwill are a little stained (I threw out the BAD ones)........do you know if they will still keep them???? They were to the point, you had to hold them at different angles in the light to see the "spit up" stains......

Wow, that's a huge accomplishment! When you're done how about heading to my house;) . If Goodwill can't sell the clothes as is they are able to sell them in bulk to other vendors who will use them for things (not sure what those would be).

I just actually talked to a friend of mine whos friend of hers deals with single moms...pregnant moms..low income. She is going to see with her first about all my onsies and sleepers. I would really like to give them to somebody I know will use them....they are in quite good shape...most of them....winter jackets, boots, fleece thingies....etc......

I hope I can keep this motivation going....I never wanted to part with ANYTHING for all these years....I would always say "I remember Morgan (or Madison) in this outfit".....etc....

am I the only one around her calling the long post police

Lisa,

My husband and I watched Clean-Sweep last night. I didn't get motivated today. We went to see Brother Bear instead.

A couple of weeks ago I got motivated to get rid of some old stuff. I figured if I didn't get rid of some stuff, I'd start packing stuff for our upcoming trip.:teeth: My SO walked in in the middle of my decision making of what stays and what goes and asked me if this meant that I needed to pack a bag so he could take me to the hospital (meaning I was "nesting", I never nested with either of my kids). I was so tempted to russle up one of my old positive pregnancy tests I've saved from my kids for that remark.;)

Browneyes!!....I can't believe you even brought that up!!!!! Well, instead of getting too into it....lets just leave it at that....I AM DONE HAVING BABIES!!!!!!! DD 7 is the youngest and I just can't seem to rationalize having another to "start all over!!!!!"........I am only 1 day late though!!!!!

That has been in the back of my mind these few weeks of cleaning cupboards etc.......

LOL! Lisa, our kids are the same ages (my dd is 10, my ds is 7). I can't imagine starting all over now either. I'm beginning to learn how to sleep through the night all over again.;)

And...I am getting kinda scared.......what if?? I kinda do really think...and I ......well.....am done!!!!

To add...I never had the "nesting stage" either....does it come with age???? Since I am getting older...hate to admit that...but I am.........

1 day late is pretty normal sometimes.:) Especially if you've been under any stress.:)

My SO's SIL's all had nesting stages. They all had their babies before they were 25, so it may not be an age factor. We had a blizzard when I was pregnant with my dd, and I think I was scared I'd go into labor with her and not be able to get to the hospital, and that's why I didn't have a nesting stage with her. My ds was a "premie" (if you call 8# 12 ounces a premie;), he was 3 weeks early). I think if I'd carried him another week or so, I might've nested with him. I don't know too many women that nest early on.:)

I think it's just stress or something for you.:)

i don't know...I have been pretty right on for the last year or 2....but it could be thinking about it. I stopped the shot (depo) about dec 2001 and haven't really had a scare since until now.....and when you brought it up........I am really thinking now.....

browneyes...not that you brought it up totally....but that has been in the back of my mind....hopefully just stress thinking of what it could be
