I am so afraid of heights. I've had panic attacks multiple times because of my fear of heights. So when I went to WDW this past weekend I was just a bit overly anxious about my first trip on the Skyliner. I really am happy that they are only letting one family per vehicle so that I could experience it all with just my own family and not a stranger.

I was a little afraid of some parts of the ride. The long, high, straight parts going from Caribbean to HS & Epcot to Riveria, I had to take a few deep breaths and look down at my lap. But overall it was a really nice ride and new mode of transportation. I actually like the Epcot loop more than the HS. I was thinking the shorter loop would've been nicer for me, but I like the views of the backside of Epcot and the bend.

It was just such a nice experience, especially if you ride it during low times of the day. It actually felt like a ride.

So good to hear! DH and I were just discussing this tonight. Years ago, we went to dinner at the California Grill and went out on the deck to see the fireworks. I'd been SO looking forward to it. Well. I got about 4 steps onto the deck before I suddenly froze and realized-"Why did I ever think this would be a good idea? I'm afraid of heights." and I spent the rest of the time next to the wall, clinging to the building. When I said that I was looking forward to the Skyliner, DH laughed and reminded me of this experience.

The Skyliner is the very 'ride' that Disney has ever made. I don't care for heights and neither does some family members. We all adore the Skyliners.

I, like alot of others, do not care for heights and were also apprehensive about riding it the first time. (I rode the one at MK in the 70's and wouldn't you know it broke down while i was in the middle of the ride). However that being said, i really enjoy it and it certainly is a quick way to get between some of the hotels and parks. Love it.

I have the same issues OP. And have even had the exact same experience at CG that @Simba's Mom did. Sudden panic, couldn’t breath or move until my DH held my hand & walked me back. I decided to try the skyliner once, just to see how it was. I fully expected to be in panic mode the whole time. I was so surprised but after the first few minutes... it was not a problem at all. I really enjoyed it. We used it a few other times & are even booked at Riviera in December. The only part that made me a little uncomfortable was the turn, there was a little bumpIng or “not smooth“ feeling for a bit. But it is normal & I could get used to that quickly. I’m sure we will use it frequently going forward.

I haven't had a chance to ride the Skyliner yet (we were last there in June 2019 when it wasn't open yet). I am mildly afraid of heights, D.M (Disney Mom) is incredibly afraid of heights, but it's reassuring that it is doable! I think that being in an enclosed space makes a difference; if it were completely open-air I think we'd be a little more nervous.

I am terrified of heights and originally said they’d be a no go for me but now I’m thinking I can handle it. And I could close my eyes if needed to!
