I Was Braced!!!!

I got my braces yesterday!lol I got invisalign,my mom works at a dental office,so so she got a discount. They're the clear,removable braces for those living under a rock.I'm going to starve to death!lol You have to take them off to eat and drink anything besides water,and,it takes me forever to get them off.Does anyone else have braces or has had them?Do you use invisalign or regular?Right now,I don't have any pain,exept in my jaw...I don't know if I should worry or not, Everyone at school liked my case for them,instead of the actual braces,

my dentist said i needed them but he also told me i have teeth growing in the roof of my mouth and i need tons of surgery. and he said my brother and sister needed braces when they were 5! they barely lost any teeth yet! but we switched dentists and other than a cavaty or two, we're fine!

i've been told i need braces... though maybe that's because i had to have 10 teeth pulled out of my mouth in 2004 (glad i had anasthetic (sp?) or i would have refused) i still think my teeth are growing because some are bigger then the others

Cuz I'm kinda a scaredy cat and well yeah I might just run away if it does...

The dentist says I will probably wear them for 1 1/2 years. My friend had to wear them for 3 so I guess I'm lucky.

Other than that I have never had a cavity and have nice white teeth.

i think its 1! lol. because my friends have him[the old one]too and they hate him! they say he always finds something wrong with them.

my new dentist is so nice! hes chinese and speaks english poorly because he's ahem, chinese but i understand what i need to! and the "nurse" is always with him so she can kind of translate!

are dentist's helpers called nurses? or assisstants?

The only thing that really bothered me was when I had to bite down really hard to get the metal thingy on on the two teeth in the back. I can't think of what they are called at the moment... .brackets? idk.

Oh, and the mold stuff is gross too.

Take motrin beforehand! You won't be able to eat "civilized food" for about four or five days. (Note that you should buy tons of soup or other mushy foods.)

I had my braces put on August 19, 2004 and got them off on May 1, 2006.

Sounds like he was trying to get you to get the million dollar smile.

I had braces for 5 years straight. It totally sucked. At the beginning they said I only needed them for a year, but somehow it evovlved to 5. I really wish I could of had invisaline.

I had regular braces for a year...maybe a year and a half. Yeah they hurt at first. Mine hurt so much a few hours after I got them put on...but after the first two days, it's really not bad. Then for tightening, it just feels....well tight. Not painful at all. It's just the inital first day or two that are bad. Just take an advil and you'll be fine. Oh and eat LOTS of ice cream!
