We've done character meals at:
Cinderella's
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare
Artist Point (not sure if that one's still around)

We've had sit-down lunch or dinner at:
Le Cellier
Alfredo
Teppanyaki
Rainforest Cafe
Hoop-dee-doo
BW's River Grille??
50's Prime Time Cafe

I want to try a few new places (maybe one character meal) on our next trip. Without getting too expensive or spicey ;), what are your best sit-down recommendations for someone who likes basic, reasonably healthy foods.

Garden Grill in The Land has a nice character meal. If not at the parks, a good character breakfast is Cape May @ Beach Club.

Biergarten is a World Showcase restaurant you might want to try. Most people (myself included) wonder why they waited so long when they finally do try it!!

:goodvibes

Boma is a great buffet. :) Jiko is great too but a little on the pricey side. Marrakesh is also wonderful.

All are a little spicey, but there's something on the menu for everyone. :)

Also, agree with Biergarten. Good food, great price and a show on top of all that. :)

Ohana in the Polynesian Resort is a nice restaurant. If you prefer outdoors, then try for a luau

I love the Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner. It's Minnie, Chip & Dale, Goofy & Pluto in Colonial dress with traditional food (turkey, beef, ham) served family style. Good food, good character interaction and one of my favorite places.

You could also try OHana's at the Poly. I hear it's got great food and we're planning on trying it on our trip in Sept.

Boma, O'Hanas, Jiko and Teppanyaki are ones I would suggest.

We like Olivias - not too pricey by Disney standards and a wide variety on the menu. For value we feel you can't beat the Chef's Menu for lunch at Chef's de France for $14.95 - we use this as our big meal of the day.

Our favorite character meal is Donalds bkfst at AK! We also enjoy the character bkfst at Ohanas! For lunch/dinner how about Garden Grill?

Sorry it took me so long to thank everyone...

Thanks for the great suggestions. I think we'll get to do 2 or 3 of these suggestions. I think O'Hana's would work for dh and I while the kids are at the Neverland Club. I'm still trying to decide between LTT or Cape May for a Character meal (forgot to mention we had already done the Garden Grill). I think we'll finally have to do Biergarten this time also. So much great food, so little time.

Hi Lora, we really liked the Coral Reef in Epcot. The aquarium is awesome to sit and watch while you enjoy your dinner. Maybe a bit on the pricey side but it is a unique venue. Kids would love it.
