I'm going for about a 5 day trip and want to try some new restaurants. I always say I'm going to try new places for dinner then end up changing my ADR's back before we go. If you have a favorite restaurant that is not on this list, I want to hear about it!!

*I'm a vegetarian but my friend is not. Most places in the past have been able to accommodate me if I couldn't find something on the menu. BUT, if you know of a place with a really good veggie dish - let me know!

My favorites are:
Jiko
Brown Derby
Coral Reef
Ohana
Plaza

I've also been to dinner at:
Yak & Yeti
Mama Melrose
Akershus
Chefs de France
Le Cellier
San Angel
CRT
Boma
Spoodles
Chef Mickey
1900 PF
WCC
Yachtsman...only for Thanksgiving and I ended up getting sick and didn't eat much and had to leave 1/2 way through dinner - from CRT the night before (long story)

If you think I am missing out on a restaurant- convince me to eat there!!

Some details: We'll be staying at AKL and probably only go into the parks for 2 days.

Isn't it funny, we do the same thing when we are planning a trip. We always say we want to try new places, but just HAVE to eat at our favorites as a priority, then run out of time to try the new stuff!

Here are some that you haven't listed that we really enjoy and try to hit often:

* Tepan Edo in Japan at Epcot (haven't been since they re-opened, though)
* Restaurant Marrakesh in Morroco in Epcot (probably one of the most underrated restaurants at WDW - great food and service, fun theming)
* Kimono's at the Swan (best sushi!)
* House of Blues in Downtown Disney
* Raglan Road in Downtown Disney

Good luck, and have fun!

Thanks! Funny - I had ADR's for Kimono's and Marrakesh last trip but changed last minute!!! Glad to hear you enjoyed them, I'll be adding those to my list of options.

My friend is kind of lukewarm on the whole WDW thing. We are 21 and I think she is over it. But that's okay because it means I get to do all of the planning!! Anyways, I'm going to make a list and explain the themes of each restaurant and have her help me decide.

Thanks again for your help!

If you want to give Morocco a try at a cheaper price, try the counter service at Tangierine Cafe...have great platters for lunch that give you a taste of a lot of different dishes...then you can try something new and still do one of your favorites for dinner...and if you're over 21, and like a loverly adult beverage, try the Sultan's Colada there...it's a pina colada with almond liquer added. Like drinking a dessert. Yummy

I recommend California Grill! Great food and atmosphere and I am sure they can accommodate a vegetarian. Great view of Wishes!

Wolfgang Puck's across from the movie theaters in DD has a great squash ravioli.

Portobello's is a restaurant in DD near Fulton's and the new T Rex. It doesn't get mentioned much, but is is one of our favorites. The new menu has a great mix and match antipasta selection.

The Turf Club at Saratoga Springs has the best Caesar salad I've ever had.

The three restaurants I mentioned also all have outdoor dining, if you like.

You didn't mention when your trip is. The new restaurant at AKL's Kidani Village will open in June, I think. I'd think they'd have some interesting dishes. Considering you like Jiko and Boma like I do, my first thought would be to try the new place.

I also suggest having lunch at Tangierine Cafe in Morocco - they have an excellent vegetarian platter (I think it's called the Vegetable Sampler or something like that) - hummus & bread, marinated olives, lentil salad, tabouleh, couscous....OMG I want it now!

I came back to edit it this to say that I'm not a vegetarian so actually I have no idea if this meal is truly vegetarian or not - but I'm sure they have something there to accomodate you if this isn't!

Trial's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness is a family favorite and the food is good. Ther servers are funny and have some great stories and tips. Its also a great reason for visiting Fort Wilderness.

Cape May Cafe at Beachclub is another favorite. The food is good and the seafood bar at dinner is AWESOME. The character breakfast is also fun, the characters make fast rounds and you get a nice amount of time with them. The desserts at dinner are also awesome.

Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. Pooh and friends are the characters and the food is great. The cornbread at lunch and dinner is one of my favorite foods in all of disney.

Sorry, the entree at Wolfgang Puck's (downstairs) is pumpkin ravioli, not squash, as I stated in my previous post. Also, the Portobello's menu on www.allearsnet.com has not been updated, so the antipasta section is not yet listed.

Kona Cafe for breakfast.

DW loves the Tonga Toast. For me it the Macadamia Nut Pancakes.

This *is* vegetarian and it *is* excellent. Highly recommended.

Teppan Edo is great, give it a try.
Yachtsman is fantastic and worth another try.
Liberty Tree Tavern has a good lunch.

Opps, just noticed that you are looking for vegetarian options. I can't help much there, but I almost order the Vegetable entree at Teppan Edo because it looked great!

Cali Grill
Citrico's
Narcoossee's
Wave
Kona Cafe
