I want to plaaaaan!

Wideeyes - what areas are you looking at for your villa? We like to be around the Poinciana Blvd area as we stayed in Davenport this year and we found it too far out for us.

I am not sure yet. I have been looking at Davenport though, how far is it out? We need to keep a budget so have to compromise on certain things so we may have to be a little futher out.

This will be my first time off site and sometimes I think I am going to miss being on site, but a hotel room is just not practical as we will have a baby and a 11 year old and I don't want my daughter to feel stuck with us and the baby all the time, with a villa she can have her own room. As we have 2 other couples coming with us, a villa will be a lot cheaper too.

Also I know I wont be spending as much time at Disney this time, as the others want to go to US/IOA and Bush gardens. If it was up to me I would only go to WDW.

I think there's no such thing as too early to plan ::yes::

We've been planning our 2013 holiday since 2009!! It's to celebrate our silver wedding, eldest DD's 21st and middle DD's 18th ..... and youngest DD is coming because she HAS to ..... but I'm sure it won't be TOO much of an ordeal for her :rotfl2:

The plans have been tweaked a few times but now we've booked the cruise part it finally seems real. :yay:

Happy planning Torsie and everyone else!! :wizard: :wizard:

Hiya all,
This will be our first time to wdw, we are a family of 7 which includes me 42,hubby 56, daughters aged 19 & 25 sons aged 23 and 20 ( both austistic ) and granddaughter 2 ( she will be celebrating her 3rd birthday out there)
we will also be celebrating our anniversary out there.
my questions are which parks do you need more time in ( how many days in each)
which are the best places to eat?? and will we need to book before going??
we are looking at staying in a villa near disney which resorts should we be looking to hire one .
thanx for reading xx

Well we found it was adding about 35-40 mins onto our drive at busy times of the day if we were going to Mk or Epcot. We like to pop back to the villa and chill out if we cn and we only found this to be possible when we were at AK or DHS.

The extra space is what we like about a villa, it's nice and convenient when you've got kids, we tried a hotel once but were too tied with the kids.

Hi Welcome to the DIS!

We tend to do two days in each park, but everyone is different and what you might like may be different to us.

I take it you won't have the dining plan if you are staying off site so some of our fave places to eat are Chilis, Applebees, Cheesecake Factory (off the top of my head) there are so many other fab places!

As for where to rent villas, we like Poinciana Boulevard and the surrounding area, again mainly depends on your needs and wants. :)

Im planing our 2013 trip that might not even happy just the thought of may be going makes me happy!

Another excessive planner over here *waves!*

We most likely won't manage a holiday abroad this year as we're doing the sensible moving house type thing (which I just cannot get as excited about as planning a holiday!), so I'm sorting out our trips for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 hahaha :rotfl:

I don't mind thinking so far in advance (I actually quite enjoy it) and love researching different places / things to do online :goodvibes

Haha, glad to see you've got lots on the agenda!!

I agree about planning this far out.....I've already got Tour Guide Mike, so can use that as a tool to organise bits and pieces. :)

Plus it's fun!

It's looking like it might be May and not October now, which means I have 5 months less to wait!!

Oooh and of course those 5 months will make all the difference!! Hehe I am thinking we might try and go to Disney World May 2013 - we usually always go to Disney (Florida and Paris) Sept/October time so it will be weird but nice not seeing everything decorated for fall/halloween!!

Nothing wrong with wanting to plan, we're hopefully going back to wdw May 2013. I'm already planning everything and the prices aren't even out yet. Can't wait!
