I have been saving my pennies and driving a 1991 car to pay for WDW trips! Now it's time to start thinking about a new car ~ a new WDW car!

I am looking for a van, not really a mini-van, something bigger. Any suggestions! Sandra

A good compromise between a mini-van and a full-size is a GMC Safari or Chevy (I forgot the Chevy model, but it's the same van as GMC). This will give you more room than a mini-van, a good ride, and better gas mileage than a full-size. I had a Safari and miss it.

I have a full size Chevy Van and LOVE it!

Plenty of room for everyone and everything I want to take!

YEAH! I was looking at Safari! Sandra

We once had a Chevy Astro when we rented in Florida. We drove it to WDW and called it our Astro Orbiter.

Sandra, we have a l0 yo Safari that we bought new to take on cross country camping trips. Love that car and it is so functional.

We loaded the back with rubbermaid totes filled with clothes and stuff. It is really a nice car.

We have only had a few minor problems with it, but have been easily repaired for the l0 yrs we have had it.

We bought it to pull a pop up cause the Safaris/Astros have slightly bigger engines than some other brand mini vans.

GMC has a bigger van called a Savannah, but that thing is HUGE.

You probably won't believe this, but my last post started me thinking about how much I miss my Safari. Now I'm thinking about getting another one.

Herc, that's exactly why we bought ours in the first place, too. None of the other minivans could do the job and I didn't want a full-size.

Now the most important QUESTION!! About the COLOR for your WDW van??

When we went in 2001 to WL to eat breakfast at Artist Point the most popular color of car/van was Gold!! Boy, did they look royal!!

But I have this theory, born from the accidents this driver has been privy to,Buy a car/van that is No Way Anything close to the Road Color in your state. Vechiles that match the road color are most often in accidents,Grey/silver cars are BAD here in the NW areas of Oregon. Southern Utah and Arizona need to avoid cars that are the reddish color of those states roads. States that are snow most of the year need to avoid White/Grey cars and so on!!

Just got done doing this 8 months ago.....
We are pop-up campers so we needed something with towing capacity. Our final selection after 2 years was a Chevy Express Conversion van. For the price it had more rom/features/towing capacity then Ford expedition, Suburban etc... Our full size conversion van was a "few" thousand more then a regular minivan. The biggest drawback is the gas milage. 15mpg wether I am towing or driving to Florida on the expressway. If you considering a mini van I would have to say my research put the Honda Odessey way out front. IF you can "live" with the gas milage I would go with a full size van. Our 22 hr drive to Florida was fine with it but I can't imagine driving that in a car. The new tv/vcr combos they have out now are a lifesaver. The girls had their headphones on and we had PEACE!!
