"I want my soup!" An October 2010 Trip Report UPDATED 7/9 2012 PTR STARTED!

What a great night!!! It is kind of a bummer to see Wishes from a weird angle, but at least it's still Wishes!!

I didn't mind. The hub was just too packed, shoulder to shoulder, and we cut back through Tomorrowland to avoid the crowds after the show.

Looks like you had a great first day!

Pfffttt, Disney fireworks are the best! You got some nice pictures and it's great you had very short wait times!

Can't wait to hear if they played NKOTB at Jellyrolls!

I just commented. :)

We had a fantastic first day! :)

That's what I'm saying. The fact that he even compared anything about Disney to Six Flags was ridiculous. I don't know about the other Six Flags around the country but the one in NJ is awful. I won't even go to that park anymore, I hate it so much! :sad2:

You'll find out soon ;)

Great first night! I love that pic of the castle! That's so awesome that all of the rides were walk-on! One of these trips, I'm going to stop scheduling so much "extra" stuff so that we can actually enjoy PM EMH at MK!

omg we did pretty much the exact same rides that same night! too funny. And we sat directly in front of the castle for wishes, I've never seen it THAT crowded. It took FOREVER to get out of the crowd

i suppose as I stay off site I miss all this "Lets put our bags in a room and get to a park for a few hours" joy, but hey, at least I get to live it through you this time

I love MK late night! There are hardly any crowds and everything is just so pretty all lit up. It's my favorite time to go :)

I know!!! The crowds were crazy for Wishes. I tried to get into the hub and was like 'no way, forget it' after about 2 minutes. We were lucky we were on the bridge because we hightailed it through Tomorrowland while everyone else was fighting to go toward Main Street.

Have you ever stayed onsite? The perks are definitely worth it! EMH is great and everyone has to experience a Disney shuttle.

I left off with us leaving Magic Kingdom and going back to Pop the night before. It was about 1-1:30 when we finally fell asleep and we were up and ready to go by 10 the next morning. It was my birthday and it was time to go to Animal Kingdom!

We opted to drive rather than take the bus this day. We got in and parked no problem but waiting for the tram to take us to the entrance was a nightmare. People just couldn't line up. They were all crowded around in clusters. We could see the entrance from where we were waiting for the tram and just decided to walk. People were laughing at us as we got out of line but...we beat the tram to the entrance. Suckers.

We saw these guys as soon as we walked in. Still sleeping!

We went over by Kilamanjaro Safari first and the line was about 30 minutes. We got a fastpass and had about an hour to kill before we could use it so we decided to get something to eat since we had skipped breakfast. But not before Kris, Adam, and Kim made a stop at the beer cart...at 11 am. :sad2: I think the CM gave them a dirty look because of it.

Adam really wanted to eat at Flame Tree BBQ so we headed over in that direction. But first Kim wanted to play on the drums.

The rest of us were not feeling Flame Tree BBQ so we told Adam to meet us at Restaurantsaurus. I'm not really a fan of BBQ sauce. :confused3 So we made our way into Dinoland and Adam met us there after he got his food.

I got something called a Shrimp Po Boy, which is fried shrimp with a spicy orange sauce and lettuce on a roll. I wasn't feeling the roll so I just ate the shrimp right out of it w/some fries. I think Kim and Alex got the same as me, Kris got a bacon cheeseburger, and Adam got ribs.

After lunch, we could use our fastpass again so we got a fastpass for Dinosaur. We took the long way back to Africa and passed a cart selling Mickey ears. My sister bought both of us leopard print mickey ear headbands. I wore mine for the rest of the day :)

I have to mention how impressed my sister was with the CMs. I was wearing my Birthday pin and so many people had already wished me a happy birthday. She said they were spotting me from a mile away. She is a store manager for Ulta and she says she has a hard time getting her employees to even say thank you! She was blown away by everyone at Disney.

We stopped to use the restrooms in Africa before we got on KS and while we were waiting for everyone, we saw this guy and had to get a picture. You can see our ears.

It wasn't that bad while we were there. In the low 80s, except for the last two days where it got up toward 90. It was pretty chilly once the sun set. My sister has psoriasis on her elbows and knees and you really can't see it unelss you look for it or stare but it makes her self-conscious. So she always covers up.

Thanks! LOL Did he cheer up once he saw the animals?

i liked that alien hat, we thought about getting it but never got around to picking it up after we saw it the first time.

mmmmm chili cheese dog...i get those everytime at BB when we go.

I don't know if it's going to fit on my nephew's head. He's 12 and it's tight on my head. Maybe I just have a big head. :confused3 :rotfl:

Chili cheese dogs are sooooo good!

So I left off with all of us just about to use our fastpass for Kilamanjaro Safari. I mentioned in my PTR that a couple of friends were down the same week as us. Apparently, we passed two of them as we were breezing by the stand by line. My friend Katie text me and said she saw me and my sister and our ears. We boarded our vehicle right away and it was time to start our safari! I took lots of pictures of the animals and here are some of the best ones.

How come when you go on KS you NEVER see the lions? Has anyone ever seen one of them standing up? I always see their ears, if that. Lazy animals.

After KS, it was almost time to use our Dinosaur fastpasses. On the way, we stopped to get fastpasses for Everest. It was here that I realized I had lost my sister's KTTW card (I was holding on to mine, hers, and Kris's). We explained it to the CM by the Everest FP machines and he was nice enough to give us an extra. I knew I had her card when we got the Dinosaur fastpass and figured I had left it on the machine. I had. The CM that was manning the Dinosaur FP machines found it. Phew! My sister did get a little over-dramatic and said she'd just stay in the hotel room for the rest of the trip. She was a little quiet and not her usual self for a little while but perked up after Dinosaur.

I really like this picture of me and Kris :) Took it while we were waiting to board Dinosaur.

I wish I had gotten a picture of the on-ride photo. My sister looked scared to death. That has to be one of the best photo ops in WDW.

We also took a quick spin on Primeval Whirl. Photo courtesy of Adam

After Dinoland, we went on Kali River Rapids. Everyone except Alex got soaked. He was lucky enough to be on the other side of the boat. It was like that thing never turned. We hit every rapid head on!!

After Kali, it was time to use our Everest fastpasses. Everyone loved it but we got stuck at the part where the track is ripped up so it kind of took away from the effect. Adam asked if that happened often and was this supposed to happen. We were literally sitting there for maybe 3 minutes or so until we finally dropped back into the mountain. :rolleyes1 It was a nice chance to sit in the sun to dry off a little!

We had one more ride to hit and that was It's Tough To Be a Bug. On the way there, I snapped a few pictures of Everest.

SAM_0118.jpg

I think this is really cool

SAM_0117.jpg

I didn't get any pictures of the Tree of Life on the way into Bug. Shame on me, sorry. I did get the obligatory Bug glasses shot of me and Kris though.

SAM_0119.jpg

I look so cool with my glasses and ears.

After Bug, we decided to head back to Pop. We had an 8pm ADR at Ohana and everyone wanted to relax for a bit. I knew Kris was anxious to spend some time at the pool. So if was off to Pop we went. We took the tram this time since it was far less crowded than the morning tram and our driver had a thick island accent. There were people literally about to step on the tram and she must've said 'No further boarding!' ten times to get them to go back in line. I have no idea why, these people could have fit, but she was not going to let them on. Just the way she kept repeating it over and over again was kind of funny and 'No further boarding!' became the running joke for the rest of the vacation.

Up next, dinner at Ohana and Jellyrolls! Would I get my Lapu Lapu? Would the Jellyrolls pianists play our requests???

I totally luv your trip report...especially since i'm a fellow New Jersian.
My bday was 10/04 so i was like "OMG you went on my bday! :)

Happy Belated Birthday!

Love you AK pics! You got great shots on the safari! And yes, I did get a pic of the mail lion standing up (and roaring!) on one of our trips. I'll go back through my old TRs and see if I can find it for it. It was really cool...you could feel the tremor from his roaring in your stomach!

ETA:
Here's the link...it's the first pic on the page. It was when we went in December 2006.
