I just need to vent........and I knew my Canadian friends would be sympathetic.....

We went to a pool party yesterday and out of 4 families, three of them are going to Disney next week (Kids are already out of school here)

I wanna go......:sad1: :sad1:

We are moving back to Canada this summer and unfortunately we have to give our US Dollars to some lucky person who will charge a huge amount of overinflated $$$$ to buy their house.
(Man......has real estate gone up since 2001!!!)
So no Disney for us!

As an aside......I cannot believe how little planning these people do! I had to bite my tongue:bitelip: I offered them this site, and a few others and left it at that. I heard many times "oh, we'll just go a figure out what to do when we get there........""  :earseek:

Well, next trip we'll be able to pay the Canadian dollar prices you guys do.......and take advantage of the many Canadian deals that are available ;) ;) :teeth:

Be of good cheer. You may still make it back before I do (note hideously long countdown). Even if it is a long way off, you can still start planning, and daydreaming and counting down. Although I can sympathize with the pain of dealing with people who will be there next week.

Actually, I'm rather pleased with DH. When I asked him to, as soon as work would allow it, book off the last week of August 2005, he just got the most perfect little smile on his face.

Kungaloosh!
Mort.

We can only hope to win the lottery and then let the planning begin!

After our Halloween Trip we won't be able to go until August 2005! I keep telling myself and DD that it's DL, DCL, and WDW! Three Vacations in one!LOL It ain't workin'

Especially since next year March Break and Easter are combined! But it's gonna be hard enough trying to get the time off for the August trip let alone a March Trip!LOL

And I hear you about people not planning! I have a neighbour that thinks one day for MK is enough! Maybe they will do Epcot but noway to MGM or AK! Unbelievable! I feel sorry for the kids!

PS Good Luck with the Disney Visa but don't hold your breath. If you don't have a US Address, No Visa! I've tried!LOL

Pixie Dust that you can get a trip in!

I have the Disney 'Itch' so badly!

We were there at New Years...did a cruise in early May and are going to New York City on June 18th....BUT I want to go to WDW and can't stop thinking of ways to do it!

I also have annuals that will expire at the end of August so that isn't helping me give up on this idea either:(

Boo-Hoo...I need to win the lottery I think!

Dear Y & K,

Hopefully you bought in Atlanta and watched your Atlanta real estate shoot up over the past 3 years to collect on the "sell" side....and remember, Toronto isn't all that bad for real estate prices if you don't mind the 'burbs...I'd trade it for Bergen County, NJ real estate prices anyday!

jersey shark - we'll do just OK, since we moved here in 2001 the market went flat. It's a real buyers market, which is definately not the case up North! I'm just watching the US dollar, as it's the exchange rate that is killing us. We figure we'll be out about 30% - oh well! (We converted at 60 cents, and take back at about 30 cents)

We are looking forward to coming home again - to Tim's, PC products and DD is thrilled to go back to the land of Pizza/pizza, Harveys, and Swiss Chalet......go figure!

Further to my post........I whined at DH last night about not going to WDW this summer, and he replied, "If you book a trip.......that'll be grounds for divorce!" Yikes! No sympathy from the WDW hating hubby!

Just Kidding!LOL

Can you not explain that it would be cheaper to do a trip from there than from The TDot! Our Dollar is falling again, Mickey is Missing Him!

I think you could have a case, like Janet said. So much easier to do a trip while you're still in Atlanta. Do you need your Canadian Dis-friends to put a little pressure on him??? :teeth: I mean after all, if WE all think it's a great idea, then it really MUST BE a great idea ... Canadian Dis-freaks are never wrong

Good luck - we're all rooting for ya !!!

And about the lack of planning, we had friends that didn't follow our advice, and basically saw "nothing" (in my opinion anyway). They had a good time, and have said "we'll go back someday". I have another friend who went last summer, came home and made statements like "the next time, we'll ..." She printed out my park touring stategies and took the appropriate ones every day in her fanny pack. She is now considering a last-minute summer trip because of a lot of stress in her life ... and she now knows the best cure for stress :teeth: Hooray .. I've converted another one!

I knew you guys would make me feel better.

I'm just going to use up all his AirTran points for flights next summer (little does he know!)

Scratch - I thought about your comment (too funny) but could you imagine the Doctor Phil episode.........although I could stack the audience with DISers!

Oh well, I think it'll have to be Summer of 2005 - I'll just copy Cass's << ^..^>> trip reports itinerary - nice trip she did - that'll get him!!

Plus, I have the kids on my side too!

Thanks!

We'd better make sure my DH isn't in the Dr.Phil audience.....Your DH would have any someone cheering him on... and then you and I could both end up divorced..... Oh well, I guess YOU & me could go to WDW to spend all the alimony ;)

You Guys are too Funny!

I say we go to Divorce Court and then straight to WDW! That show is only like 15 mins long!LOL
