I wait all this time to find out my AAA quote is wrong

Thank goodness my AAA agent finally got through, but I waited all this time for a bad quote.

Anyways, for whatever reason the price difference between what Disney is saying and what AAA can get me is only $44 difference which makes no sense what so ever.

I priced it all out and this is what it should be by the information Disney privided to them in there new MYW magazine:

Resort: Pop Century-Standard: Normal rate with tax for regular season $110.32 x 8 nights = $882.56
- 15% (AAA discount in the new MYW magazine)= $750.18
Tickets: 7 day park hopper = $237.50 (disney's site)
Dinning: 35 per day at 7 days = $280 (disney's site)
Insurance: $44.95
Total $1312.63

They quoted her $1413.41 and Disney's online site quoted me $1458.25. Where is the extra $100 comming from. I sent an e-mail back to here asking why the price difference. I'm not paying $100 more just to do a package. I will do everything separately if I have to.

I hear you! WDW quoted me $2018.66 for 2 adults, 1 child at Pop (7 nights hotel, 7 day tickets w/ hopper feature only, + dining option). AAA gave me a quote of $1988. Only about $30 difference there. Where did the 15% off room rate go? I KNOW that must be more than $30!

Let me add that I think the dining package is a good deal (at least for my family), but I don't think AAA is offering anything bettter than WDW. Why go through this hasle of booking through AAA if WDW can get me the same deal without having to wait around for some travel agent to call back.

Ask your AAA agent if they have booking fee's. Ours does!

The online Disney specialist agencies are better for us. The only one that has fees at all is Mouseear Vacations (they have a $25pp cancel fee)

The prices May be close to equal starting out, but I KNOW they will watch for better deals. AAA doesn't!

Thanks for the update! It's quite disappointing to hear.

I have no idea what the problem is, but I can tell you a few things that I know about AAA discounts. First, the 15% off is before taxes. In your case it doesn't make a big difference. Second, often certain categories of rooms (the cheapest ones) are sold out of the AAA rate. Is it possible your quote is for preferred? It would be about $91 more for 8 nights.

That could explain it, but I told her standard and she told me that today when she called.

I am waiting for her to get back to me, but I am going to tell her thanks, but I am going to go in another direction because I can do everything by myself and save the $100. The only thing I will need to do is call Disney and get a AAA room only rate for that time.

Have you checked with Disney to see if AAA rate is available for room only at POP for your dates? Just wondering because I checked for us (close to your dates) and they said no AAA rates available. I hope you have better luck! Sorry AAA has been such a hassle but appreciate all your info.

No, you don't need your card to reserve, but you'll need it at check in.

I have tried twice to get AAA at POP for 05/27 to 06/12, and was told both times that there are none at that time for that resort. I did have them check all of the Values, and still found none. (o please, i need a AP discount)

Another thing I have noticed with AAA is that they almost always include the $89 Disney cancellation insurance. If there is a price difference that could be a part of it.

My agent made it clear that the trip insurance was not included. I'm thinking that the difference is the booking fee. There are 2 adults, 2 children (one is under 3), so the booking fee would have been $100 if they charged $25 for each of us. I'm going to give up on AAA. I may still do the package, but directly through WDW. For now, I have my room only ressie with AAA discount. I'll wait until next month to see if any room codes come out. If they don't, I'll book the package through WDW.

Before yougive up on AAA I'd call another office and try a different agent. It sounds like a error. I'd sure give it another try.

AAA found the problem and Disney is apparently working on it.

My agent just e-mailed not to long ago, that I was right and my quote wasn't taking into account the AAA discount. Apparently they forgot to put the discount information into the Disney computer systems and that is why it is comming out wrong at the AAA disney reservation desk.
