I underplanned

I plan each WDW trip extensively and to the point I'm obsessive. Anyhow, we are on vacation now and I didn't plan enough. This was going to be a "relaxing no plans" vacation. Tomorrow we're going to Williamsburg Va. (we're staying in VA Beach) and I just realized I didn't bring any sneakers or shoes appropriate for walking!! I've already got blisters from my sandals just from walking around town looking at shops. That is going to leave me w/ my flip-flops!! They're so comfortable but I don't know that they'll be okay for tomorrow-- guess I'm gonna have to just go for it.

Yikes... nothing like blisters when you are trying to enjoy yourself. Hope you find some comfy shoes soon.

I underplanned financially if you know what I mean! It wasn't so much underplanning as over spending probably!

You'll be fine in your flip flops. I live in my flip flops - I used to think I needed good walking shoes for MK, EPCOT, MGM and AK - Nope - I'm strictly a flip flop woman now!

I never bring sneakers to WDW anymore !!! I just cannot find a comfortable pair, so I wear Birkenstock sandals (if it's warmer weather) or Birkenstock clogs (if it's cooler weather).

If your flip-flops are comfy, go for it! There's nothing worse than blisters!!!

I *always* do WDW in my flip flops (except in january - it was kinda cool out - so I went with my sneaks)

never had a problem with flip flops...I basically LIVE in them from May until September here in the North East

At least you didn't forget your underwear, I always have nitemares that I get to my destination and can't find my underwear.

I hear ya! I have such a hard time with "walking" vacations in the summer lately. For winter/cool weather vacations I have two pairs of black Easy Spirit lace up boots that are oh so comfy, even after 12 hours of walking. I did have a great pair of moderately stylish Easy Spirit sandals...but then when we went to the beach last year while at Disneyland I didn't plan well and had no flip flops, so the sandals went in the ocean and they've never been the same. I've got about 375 days until our 2005 trip to WDW in which to find and break in 2 pairs of summer walking shoes.

Well went to Williamsburg yesterday-- my flip-flops held up, but we weren't there that long. It was really really hot. It was not at all what we were expecting. We have a living colonial museum by us. I thought this was going to be similar to that. Well, it was more shops than that. Then we stop for lunch. My hamburger had every bite chock full of griszel. YUCK!! There were little black nats everywhere dive bombing the food. Anyhow, DS then proceeds to spill pretty much his entire soda all over me!!! We left-- couldn't do it anymore!! Anyhow, VA beach is great for relaxing. Not very much to do here. In alittle bit we're going to a waterside market in Norfolk and on a naval boat cruise. Tomorrow we leave and are headed to DC for 1 1/2 days. We've been a few times to DC in the last few years so we're making a short visit there. Right now the plan is to really explore Arlington Cemetary as we only ever do a quick tour through there. Then we'll play the rest by ear.
