I tunes help needed

We're trying to downlaod apps to our sons' I Pod Touches, but instead of deducting the cost of the Apps from their I tunes cards, our credit card is being charged. Please tell us what we're doing wrong.

Are you in your iTunes account or theirs?

We have 3 ITouches and at this point we have all 3 of them using my husband's ITunes account. We loaded a $10.00 ITunes card into each of the I Touches. Now a balance of $28.00 shows up on all 3 ITouches, but when we purchase an App, it charges our credit card. Do each of the kids need their own accounts?

Sry for the caps but a few months ago I had iTunes charges showing up on my cc that I didn't make. This is a problem w/ the company that processes their payments. It was a HUGE headache to get ahold of iTunes, delete the account, get a new one (that recognized the hundreds of dollars of purchases we have made!) Luckily I caught it before the charged the cc; Discover immediately refused the charges based on my call. (I found out as I get emails for each purchase)
We ONLY use iTunes cards now--do not even have cc on the account.
I wasn't aware you could load gift cards onto a specific iTouch--I thought you could only load them to an iTunes account. (we have one for the family)

I just have my credit card deleted from my profile and that way it will automatically take it out of the gift card balance. All you have to do is go into the profile and remove the credit card from the account. This seems to be the easiest way to do it. You can always add the cc back to the account if you want to use it.

You can't assign giftcards to specific iPods if you're using one iTunes account. The benefit to using one iTunes account is that everyone can share any apps, songs, movies that are downloaded free or paid.

You can't have gift cards for specific i-touches, only for specific accounts, so each kid would need a different account in the future to effectively split up their gift cards.

As for the credit card...I've heard of so many CC's numbers being stolen off of i-tunes, I would take your card off and only use GC's in the future
